Just heard about Dr. Johanna Fernandez. An absolutely foundational scholar. Was just rereading a passage about the Young Lords and medical protest. Que en paz descanse, omg. 🕯️🕊️

Disrespect doesn’t just make people feel bad. It leads them to perform worse.
Evidence from medical teams: Even a single insult decreases the quality of diagnoses and procedures. Rudeness disrupts focus and undermines collaboration.

Out today! As @DrVincentRamos shared at the recent PACHA meeting, CDC data on #HIV incidence trends 2010-2022 showed 95% increase among young #Latino#MSM ages 25-34. Here we report the first data on the #PrEP cascade among Latino MSM ages 13-18. Low uptake at 4.3% on PrEP calls for innovative interventions. Mixed-methods analyses highlight the role of parents and access to HIV testing as barriers or facilitators. Kudos to @JuanPablo_Zap @andrespsyc & Manuel Hurtado for leading this paper using @SMART_squad@proyecto_smart data. This intervention is the first in the @CDC_HIV Compendium to address PrEP in teens. Learn more about EN/ES version in those accounts. Thanks to @NIMHD for funding. https://t.co/Jmdg3Sazof @HIVGov@LatinoCommAIDS
