@KellieTranter I watched your excellent, thorough and informative presentation to the AUKUS inquiry. You made this point then. I totally agree. Documenting the lived experiences of communities dealing with US bases would be genuinely compelling and valuable. Is your submission available?
@4mambo The death and destruction wrought upon Palestinians in Gaza, and now in the West Bank, is beyond words. The world has been watching a live-streamed genocide. Where is the condemnation. Where is the action to stop this ongoing outrage! ?
@vanbadham I went to a public school. I'm proud of it. My kids went to public schools. I'm proud of that too. The extreme federal & state government funding of private schools here is an abomination. To my knowledge no other developed economy funds fee charging private schools like we do.
@markgkenny@boganintel@GrogsGamut An excellent Sunday contribution as always Mark. Might have been worth mentioning too the number of US military bases around the world and covert interference in governments and elections in other countries. The US is quickly gaining failed state status.
@vanbadham@KosSamaras Great. And these I tweeted earlier but are worth repeating. The comments were something like, 'Victoria is for Liberals the place where hope goes to die'. Or, 'Things will get worse before they get worse'. Yes, give them their own show!
@rachelrwithers What about Tony Barry's comments during the coverage on ABC. The comments were something like, 'Victoria is for Liberals the place where hope goes to die'. Or, 'things will get worse before they get worse'.
@markgkenny@MarieColemanAO@ANUausi@aus_journal@canberratimes@MoAD_Canberra@ANUmedia Thanks Mark for that excellent piece on Kerin. I remember him well, and the vicious attacks on him with that episode when he was treasurer. It's timely to be reminded of his grace, intelligence and wit, particularly now those attributes are becoming increasingly rare commodities.
@DougCameron51 I find this extraordinary. To give that disgusting person, Mr Robodebt, Mr Boat Turn Backs, Mr Mutiple Ministers ... How can he be given a platform on the National Broadcaster? Astonishing and saddening. This from a supporter of the ABC.
@QuentinDempster Absolutely! As Rick Morton wrote '...the worst abuse of Australian citizens committed deliberately and with legal and personal impunity over five years.' Shame on News Corp and Nine Entertainment.
@RonniSalt In the same article Katherine Murphy describes Brother Stuey as 'the exploding cigar' and ironically as 'our warrior philosopher'. Brilliant!
