I've started 8 side projects with AI in the last year.
Almost all of them stalled at ~80%.
Building is the easy part for me. Shipping and selling is where I quit.
So for the next 8 weeks I'm doing it in public. Here's the plan ๐
I'm two-thirds through redesigning Laniro, my budget app, and improving its UX. I'm learning how to publish it on the app store and thinking about how to reach people.
Do solo builders spend too much time on the product and too little on finding users?
@MaxHirsch13 A niche helps you find your first users too. It's much easier to ask a specific group what frustrates them about an app than to build for everyone and hope someone finds it.
@DsMatie That platform maintenance can eat a whole week without adding a single visible feature. It's hard to feel like you're moving when the work is keeping everything from breaking. ๐
@ann_nnng How did you keep the watercolor style consistent across the photos? Curious whether you used the same reference image for each page or refined them individually.
@nestymee@claudeai Connecting the closet to the shopping step makes sense. Can someone correct an item if the automatic color or style tag is wrong? That seems like it could change the recommendations quite a bit.
