I'm seated. The theater employees are scared and asking me to leave because it's "not August 28th, 2026 yet" but I'm simply too seated

38-year-old Palestinian journalist Mohammed Al-Najjar has been killed by an Israeli strike.

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) reports that, as of September 24, 2026, Israel is responsible for the deaths of 241 journalists and media workers since October 7, 2023.

we lost good pikmin back there. pikmin who didn’t hesitate to jump in the fire to save us the burns. I made it out alive because of them. when I close my eyes I still feel the heat

in honor of Dolly Parton, for the love of god please read a book

[The Green Kasey 🎃 @RawbertBeef]

I don’t think people know just how much Dolly contributed to children’s literacy. Her Imagination Library has been helping underprivileged families teach their kids how to read for over three decades. The war on illiteracy just lost one of its strongest soldiers.

You “Animation is Cinema” peeps better actually support these two films and show up in theaters, cause if not I don’t hear you all complaining. Just saying.

All 55 UEFA nations have voted to boycott the FIFA World Cup if Gianni Infantino’s proposal to sell stakes in the tournament to private investors is approved:

“The World Cup cannot be treated as an investment product. […] The World Cup is not for sale.”

[Nuno Sarnadas @nunosarnadas]

Honestly, this is a crime against humanity. The worst book ever written does not deserve to be physically permanently destroyed for whatever reason, let alone feed AI models.

We do not hate AI enough. Action must be taken NOW.

[Chris DeRose (ScratchyDerose.bsky.social) @ScratchyDerose]

You all BETTER see this film in theaters. Especially after the amount of mountains and loopholes this film had to climb just to get released. This film needs to make K-POP Demon Hunters level money.

GO. WATCH. THIS. MOVIE.

Her name is Megan Rapinoe. The US women's team were the best football team on earth. Four World Cups. Four Olympic gold medals. The men failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup entirely. The women were still paid significantly less. Lower salaries. Lower bonuses. Lower prize money. Same federation.
Different rules.
In 2019 Megan and her teammates sued the United States Soccer Federation for gender discrimination. The federation fought back. Argued the pay gap was justified. Argued the men generated more revenue. The women kept fighting.
In 2022 US Soccer agreed to pay both teams equally - permanently. Every female player who had been underpaid received back pay. The most successful team in American football history had to sue their own federation to be treated the same as the men who couldnt even make the tournament. They won. Every penny.
