@schneems We’re doing some testing with tcmalloc to see how it performs (probably a blog post at some point). Not rigorous testing yet but we’ve seen slower more consistent growth than jemalloc 5.0.1.

I had no idea that 2005/2006 was, like, the golden age of malloc implementations. ptmalloc2 became the glibc default in 2006. And both TCMalloc and Jemalloc we released 2005.
