@ns_environment@ns_environment are you able to respond to the question below re people in the evacuation areas but not fire-affected areas, per se? Thanks so much!
The well-water testing kits available at the Upper Hammonds Plains Community Centre & ECC Regional Offices are for people who were impacted by the wildfires. In HRM, that is people living in the Glen Arbor, Highland Park, Pockwock, Yankeetown, Westwood Hills communities. /2
The forest fire is reported traveling from the Municipality of Barrington in a northeast direction, and has crossed into the Municipality of Shelburne. Mandatory evacuation for Civic Address 1518 Lake Road through to Jordan Bay.
Illegal outdoor burning puts lives, properties, and the environment at risk. It also ties up critical fire department resources.
The Province has announced burn, travel, fireworks and activities restrictions, which will remain in place until June 25 or until conditions improve.
Any person responsible for fire spread can also be required to pay all expenses related to controlling or extinguishing the fire, and all related fire damages.
🧵Given the impacts of fire emergency vehicles moving throughout the Halifax region, the municipality is asking residents to avoid road travel, particularly near the local state of emergency area. This will help to ensure that residents do not impede the work of first responders.
VERY GRATEFUL for Mobile Health Clinic in Halifax!!
@nshealth please make this PERMANENT! And PROMOTE it widely!
Spent approx 3 hrs looking online for Walk In Clinic - all CLOSED!
Mobile Clinic staff & #811 nurse were FANTASTIC!! Thank you!
@LisaBarrettID Can you help clarify the optimal time for a next Covid-19 immunization? Should adults (under 70) be targeting early Oct - a couple weeks before the typical flu vaccine time?
And is the dose NS Health is planning for after Sept 19 a FULL dose - so, better than boosting now? Thanks
I *may* have said this before but.. take the vaccine plus approach very seriously, regardless of how many doses of vaccine you have. Maintaining resp health and wellness when resp viruses are very common means: vaccine AND public masks, testing, ventilation…and home when sick.
