@MitchWestphal@MMAdamMartin@lthomasnews Yeah same, and I'm in about as long as you. At present, I'm in my "I hate this" phase. I'll keep an eye on results, watch the odd fight, but it's taken more of a turn that I'm waiting for to blow over. If it ever does... Cage Warriors is where its at!
@MitchWestphal@MMAdamMartin@lthomasnews Don't be fooled... look at the entire political history of the sport. It's not that we're losing a battle. There never was one. Admire the sport from afar, in the sense of technicality, tradition, character etc. But don't emotionally involve yourself with basically any of them...
@HorhayBlanco@MMAdamMartin No, you can't. Everyone you love is either a despicable human or an evil idiot unfortunately. And what's even more unfortunate is this is not new if you've been a fan of combat sport for a while. Love the sport in regards to purity. Disassociate with every other part of it...
@JMarrRumbling@lthomasnews That still has no relevance. The anscyuoning body's are essentially businesses. They're giving him a ranking in rider to legitimise a fight that they know will bring revenue. Why will it bring revenue? Nothing to do with boxing
@JMarrRumbling@lthomasnews The average person on the street can still ONLY name those legends. The same goes for LeBron and the NBA, or any other sport or interest really. Me and you live in a vacuum
@JMarrRumbling@lthomasnews No, I'm sorry, I see your point, but you're protecting your fandom onto others. Yes, my grandmother knows who Mike Tyson, or Muhammad Ali is, but is that because she was such a great fan of boxing? No, it's because they're cultural icons.
@JMarrRumbling@lthomasnews We also live in a time where everyone's interests can be satisfied with an everlasting abundance media and spin off material etc, resulting in specific knowledge. We live in a time where stars, for example, the Hollywood we know of the past decades, are not universally recognised
@JMarrRumbling@lthomasnews I agree there's plenty of problems and the sport is not what it was, but in fairness, Jake Paul being one of the biggest draws has very little to do with boxing at all
@Ch33singiT@tweetsfromstar Proceed to share info that it itself specifically says is unverified. And obtaining it, not only through an unreliable source, but Elon's AI? Yeah, everyone else is the dumbass...
@mikemoviez @FreddyNarc I think a lot of people write off TCM as that classic that we've all seen that, even the uninformed are aware, was culturaly significant. And I feel Poltergeist gets lumped in as one of those 80s classic that even your parents love. Thay said, I did still vote Carpenter
@m_i_c_a_s_a@JackSlackMMA Francis concisely proved his point, in martial arts regard. After that, go get that money, or you'll waste away in Dana's pocket
@RileyfromCanada@JackSlackMMA Exactly. And exactly why it's called prize fighting. Yeah, as fans, we want to see the best fight the best, purely out of interest, but people don't realise WHAT exactly they're watching
