@hulu@DisneyPlus@WaltDisneyWorld wow I can’t believe I was just told I can’t keep my legacy package because a reason out of my control. And told I need to start a new plan 🤬🤬🤬
I think schools & politicians are so against phones being there now, is because kids use them to record the bad things in schools and post them. So it’s a black eye on that institution for the moment.
I’ve never seen so many ppl stand against something so strongly. The way they are against the building of this stadium. City council should be ashamed @PhiladelphiaGov
A #loveletter to the city of #BrotherlyLove.
From the bottom of my heart—thank you and see you soon.
In 2018, you opened your arms to my family as we transitioned out of military life. Our four children were just six (twins), three, and one year old when I joined @NBCPhiladelphia and my husband headed to business school. We dove headfirst into Philly, falling in love with every part of the walkable, diverse, brilliant culture.
From joining the @FairmountSoccer (we love you, Coach Mario!), to catching as many @Phillies games as possible, to watching our kids walk into school in their @Eagles gear, we drank the wooder. We even evolved from provolone to whiz on our cheesesteaks! Our kids grew gritty with every cold, 30-degree soccer game, celebrating in true Philly style—shirtless after a win against an equally gritty South Jersey team. 😂🥹❤️ Even earned the love of an amazing “Philly Grandma.”
Philly has given us so much, and though my professional journey took a different direction in June, we leave with nothing but gratitude and *deep* love for this real-deal city. Six years is a long time when you’re a military family, always embracing your present while working hard to stay connected to your roots. We’ll be back often as my kids ask -about once a week - when we’ll go back and see friends.
Erin. Keith. Sheila. Bill. Matt. Julia. You have my immense respect always. I will always feel pride for our work- keep up your duolingo ;) Our people at NBC, both in Philly and NYC, and all over the country, fought for our reporting daily. My heart swells when I think of our incredible force. My favorite chapter yet.
But that’s what life is…chapters.
In August we started a new one. In swift military PCS fashion, we moved to my hometown of New Orleans, where our kids will continue to grow near my incredible 90-year-old mom. It’s a full-circle moment—New Orleans embraced her and my father when they arrived from Cuba in 1969 with my older siblings, just 4 and 9 years old. Now, as we return, it feels like coming home in a NEW way…a conscious appreciation of cities that support its newcomers…as they do their children.
I’m excited for what’s next— more to come on this.
So here’s an honest offer to my PhillyFam: When the Eagles play the @Saints at the Dome in the Super Bowl ;) I’ll greet you with warm pretzels, mustard & cheese…should go well with gumbo. Come back later for “wooder ice” (called snowballs down here).
And if they haven’t renovated Tun Tavern on the Delaware yet (birth place of US Marines) in time for the 250th, come to “Tun Tavern South” in the meantime… better known as Mother's Restaurant near the Mississippi for their shrimp creole.
Philly, you’re a huge part of my kids’ identity and our mil-family story. Thank you for letting me tell your stories for six enormous years. Save us a “dollar dog” and kiss the @Phanatic for us til we can do it ourselves.
With deep brotherly love and sisterly affection,
Lucy
