...The more teachers neglect the literacies students are engaging with outside the classroom as teaching opportunities, the more irrelevant the classroom will become for students and the less adept students will be in thoughtfully navigating the world outside the classroom.
A @washingtonpost article dropped today critiquing the "Media Education in ELA" position statement that some of my @ncte colleagues & I recently published. While I disagree with him, the common ground I hope we share is the desire to see all students excel in their literacies.
