We love friction. As gamedevs, we think that our job is to push players and challenge them. Pursuing strong ideas and design visions is always right, even when you fail. It's what art must be💙
I do get a little worried about They Came From Dimension X for similar "frictional" elements. One of the big complaints I got from the demo is that the weapons feel weak, but players were trying to use them like in other shooters: point at target and shoot.
A while back, a fairly large channel accused us of having a slow default movement speed in order to “waste the 2 hour refund window.”
The reason you don’t move at DUSK’s speed in Gloomwood is because we wanted players to tread carefully as they couldn’t easily outrun threats.
