Alaska Airlines appears to have implemented geo-IP restrictions, and unfortunately, India is among the affected regions.

You can no longer access the Alaska Airlines website from an Indian IP address and will need a VPN. For award searches, you can alternatively use the Hawaiian Airlines website.

As I have been saying, Chief Minister Vijay’s intention to eliminate corruption in Tamil Nadu seems genuine.

With this direct encouragement and assurance he is providing to the public, there is definitely a strong possibility of eliminating corruption in the years to come.

The public and the state need to work together on this.

A corruption free society will be a prosperous society.

Lending 35k vs Lending 350K, seems the math is right, the logic perhaps not so much.

After staying at 3 luxury chain Hotels in Vietnam, I concluded:

Marriott Bonvoy is most overrated membership. Overpriced hotels and underwhelming service and loyalty benefits.

Accor: Genuinely good property with exceptional benefits for the Accor members.

GHA Discovery: Highly underrated in terms of cost to benefits

Hearing a rumour on HSBC x Accor, so transferred balance points to Accor. Just a reminder, it’s just a rumour.

But on the other hand it’s the same rumour on Axis x Accor few months back turned into reality, at that point too I transferred to Accor from all my Olympus card balance 😊

After my last tweet, the hotel manager from ITC Maratha reached out to me, apologized for the service lapses, and assured me that such incidents would not be repeated. I have taken down my earlier post since my intention was never to tarnish the brand’s image.

ITC as a brand has served me really well over the years and remains my de facto choice for domestic travel. My only concern is that service recovery should not be triggered only after someone raises an issue publicly on social media. For luxury hospitality brands, customer service should be part of the DNA.

That said, the silver lining with the ITC group is that they are at least listening to customer grievances and acting on them.

I faced somewhat similar issues at Taj last week and even after sharing detailed feedback through their post-stay feedback channel, there was not even an acknowledgment.

I would rather choose a brand that listens to customer feedback and works on it than one that simply does not seem to care.

Right after immigration at Section C at Hanoi Airport, I’m now standing in the security line and honestly, it’s quite crowded here.
Small tip: once you cross immigration, there’s a double queue. Move towards the extreme right side and join the line from there. That’s where the queue is moving properly.

And sadly, I have to say this.
This is not a hate post towards Indians at all, but a genuine concern when we are abroad.
I saw a few of our own people breaking queues, jumping from here and there, trying to cut the line. Like why, man? Why is this needed?
Everyone else is patiently waiting, following the line, and then a few people do this. Other travellers were literally watching and discussing it.
It honestly feels embarrassing.
Please be patient. Please follow the rules. We represent our country outside India too.
