Right now is the PERFECT time for Stargate to re-enter the world.

All the major sci-fi brands, like Star Trek, Star Wars, Dr Who, and Battlestar Galactica, are either on hiatus or stuck in development hell.

This leaves sci-fi audiences ravenous for some good sci-fi to watch. It's a wide open field for you, @AmazonMGMStudio, @PrimeVideo.

Furthermore, not too much time has passed for the actors. Sure, Richard Dean Anderson is getting up there in age, but he could still have guest appearances. There is still time, but the actors aren't getting any younger.

However, if Stargate goes back into development hell, first of all, we won't see anything happen for another 5 years, minimum. Probably more. And secondly, when it comes back it'll be a reboot for modern audiences with no connection to the current canon, so we lose all hope of seeing our favorite characters again and find out what they've been up to.

Not utilizing this Window of Opportunity™ would be a tragedy on par with not letting Luke, Han and Leia meet on screen in the sequel trilogy.

So now is the time, Amazon. The audience is there, as proven by the worldwide trending tweet storm and the 94,000 viewers of the MGM flyover. Add to that a https://t.co/emgjVeDb1s petition that will probably reach 100,000 soon, and you have all the market research you could want.

I’ve always wanted an Ancients anthology TV series. Something similar to Foundation in terms of the huge time jumps, but focused on different eras of the Alterans. This is my take for a lol 😂 I also don’t claim to be a writer Ha #Stargate

Series 1 – The foundations of Alteran civilisation and their technological rise. Ends with the emergence of the Ori and the growing ideological differences between the two societies.

Series 2 – The Alteran–Ori conflict and eventual schism. The finale sees the colony ship depart for the Milky Way and arrive on Dakara.

Series 3 – The rise of Ancient dominance in the Milky Way, the construction of Destiny and the seed ships, and the formation of the Alliance of the Four Great Races. Plenty of interplay between the races. Ends with the first city-ships entering construction.

Series 4 – The plague that wipes out most of the Ancients, with hints of covert Ori interference. The construction of the “City of the Lost” and the gradual decline of Ancient power. Covers Ascension and references Destiny. Ends with Atlantis leaving Earth as the Ancients relocate to the Pegasus Galaxy.

Series 5 – The flourishing of Ancient civilisation in Pegasus, with callbacks to the Traveller civilisation and other hyperspace-capable races. Ends with the emergence of the Wraith as a major species.

Series 6 – Total war between the Lanteans and the Wraith. The slow extinction of Pegasus’s hyperspace capable races and the humbling of the Lantean Empire. Greater focus on Ascension towards the end and establish Merlin as a character. culminating in the Ancients abandoning Pegasus and returning to Earth.

Series 7 – The struggles of being few in number yet technologically superior within a still-young galaxy. Ends with the Ancients’ Ascension, paralleled by the Ori path to Ascension, exploring the contrast between the two divergent civilisations and how they view one another. Possibly through the use of the communication stones.

Series 8 – Follows key characters after Ascension (mainly Merlin as a callback) and the challenges that come with it. Shows some choosing to take human form again. Explores the mystery of the message hidden in the cosmic background radiation and potential answers to it. Heavier mythology and deeper ties to SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe. Also shows how the Ancients have quietly shielded humanity from the Ori.

End of series.
