R. L. Dabney on the proper sphere for a woman:
Does not the apostle here assign the home as the proper sphere of the Christian woman? That is her kingdom, and neither the secular nor the ecclesiastical commonwealth. Her duties in her home are to detain her away from the public functions. She is not to be a ruler of men, but a loving subject to her husband.
One huge positive about public schools in our day is they give me a few hours to take my kids to the park without the mongrel 3rd world mutant offspring haunting the place.
I do think we should have different categories for raging feminists and church ladies with 21st century blind spots regarding latent feminism. The latter could very well be a sister in Christ, albeit poorly discipled.
That said, telling a woman she is out of line is not being mean. Being clear, direct, or even stern with a woman who is out of line is not being mean.
They cannot be both functionally interchangable with men beyond a very narrow complementarian scope and delicate flowers that require careful handling at the same time. If they are going to be contentious, they should expect contention. They don’t, because most men they encounter always fold. The beligerence happens when the contentious woman runs up against a man that will not fold. Then he is "being mean."
The Civil Rights Act is what happened
It took America from First World to Third by turning every once-nice urban neighborhood into a slum or potential slum, which the residents could do nothing to defend against
Hence why previously nice places like Detroit and Baltimore are now massive slums
If you are a Pastor & you & your elders accuse a husband of being “too controlling” because he wants his daughters to dress modestly, you are an Impastor & need to resign or be removed from your fake ministry. This is not the only area where you are trying to displace the husband as the head of his family.
You're never going to beat the purple-haired feminist in the street until you defeat the grey-haired feminist in the "conservative" church.
We don't need to reel feminism back in to what conservatives have already accepted. We need to kill it. At the source.
It's ironic that those most obsessed with "warning" Christian men about what podcasts they are listening to get the most bent out of shape when someone suggests wives' influences should be supervised by their husbands.
The gynocratic gaze never sleeps.
They’re telling you America isn’t a real nation so they can replace you *legally*
They know what they’re doing, you know what they’re doing, do you have the courage to ignore the word racist?
Is the future of your children more important than mean words?
Feminism has made its way into the church through two avenues.
The first is the pew, as members and visitors bring feminism in from the culture.
The second is the academy, as pastors are trained in seminaries by professors with PhDs. As more women have entered the theological academy, more male professors have made peace with this change for the sake of academic respectability. And this attitude gets passed on in the seminaries.
To understand the separation of church and state, we have to understand the difference between formal and material objects.
Church and state share material objects. Both will act by their respective powers against the murderer (assuming he’s a church member).
However, their formal objects differ: the act of murder as crime vs. the act of murder as sin. One seeks civil good and the other spiritual good (repentance). So both “govern” the same act but in different respects and for different ends.
The act of blasphemy may be treated in the same manner. The fact that it is a “religious act” or concerns God is irrelevant. If the act is bad for civil society, then it is a legitimate object of civil authority. And the church would consider it bad for the soul. The same act is under dual “governments” but in different respects for different ends.
So, you can’t use church/state jurisdictions or governments to limit the state’s material objects. The question is whether the state may act upon outward “religious” acts and whether those acts are deleterious to its end of virtue, order, and peace.
I understand that:
They want you murdered.
They want to rape your women.
They want to trans your children.
Your country is being ripped from you.
You have no where else to go.
The forces of culture, church, government, media, and entertainment have conspired to ruin your people.
And that they have done this all with your tithes and taxes.
But the reason you have been called to stand before the Session of Elders at Ichabod Presbyterian Church of Southwest Arkansas is because you have opposed them in a way that a 65 year old divorcee in the congregation may find offensive.
