Sad to learn that Ian Hacking has died. He co-supervised my PhD thesis together with his old friend André Gombay. The pair was a bit like good cop bad cop. Ian was intellectually unsparing, but he could also be incredibly generous, funny and kind.
Ian Hacking, an influential and prolific philosopher known for his work on various topics in philosophy of science, died earlier today. https://t.co/L3ExP9MIHq

Our retreat @uni_tue@GenomeEdit ended this weekend. Over a week, about 30 scholars discussed the #ELSA of 🧠🧫 organoids.
Such @BMBF_Bund retreats really require preparation/time. But when you take part, it is always a real privilege; intensive discussions, great ppl & setting.
Fantastic week at the @GenomeEdit retreat on human cerebral organoids #EGEorganoids. Learned a huge amount and have opened a lot of new avenues that I need to explore in order to build on my ideas. Thanks so much to everyone for your collegiality.

I have just learned that I cannot vote in the IAB board elections although I am registered for #iab2022#wcb2022 and paid my membership dues in February. My registration gives me IAB membership *from the beginning of the congress*. I'm sad I cannot support my fav candidates
If you're registered for #iab2022#wcb2022 then you are an @IABioethics member and can vote in the board elections. I'm standing for the first time and would love your support. Please read ALL the way to the bottom of the email to see my statement. And please vote! #bioethics
