Impossible to overstate what one man meant to a city. But in 1984, after two years at Newcastle in the twilight of his storied career, Kevin Keegan told the people what they meant to him:

Of course, he would see them again. This time in the dugout. King Kev rescued them from relegation to the third tier. Then took them back to the Promised Land..

Keegan’s Entertainers burned fast and they burned bright, lighting up the early years of the Premier League in the 90s.

His name will be forever etched in English football history.
