@jfwduffield@ross_baglin Bethell selection doesn't undermine merit, many of the others have but it seems pretty obvious through his progress over the years Bethell is elite
@MV33Racing The reality is it didn't change the end result because without the 2 pt cushion McLaren would have inverted Piastri and Norris so Norris would still have won
@ValueSeeker10@RacingPost Why? Two G1 wins v older horses, timeform rating 129 just one off COT and Roaring Lion. So bit confused how he shows how poor the crop have been?
@SkySportsF1 He was far enough alongside - Antonelli chopped him up he had to brake and locked up - penalty is not just harsh but the stewards seem to just make it up as they go
@LAND0ASIS@fia Except you've chosen a picture after Pastry braked because Antonelli chopped into him - take an earlier picture and he's well enough alongside
@cheltenhamchap@ciaranodeorain@RichyShea Yes, my point was re tweet about Bud Fox and one about PTP's. Agree it seems wrong re A Dream To Share 1) If won a NHF seems odd to be able to run flat maiden - literally isn't a maiden 2) re flat bred, could do like Chesham stakes - limiting races based on sire/dam race record
@cheltenhamchap@ciaranodeorain@RichyShea If I had a young horse destined to be jumps horse I would initially want it to get plenty of experience racing amongst other horses and allow it to continue its physical development. Would say if we want to look at it from a horse welfare/development POV what is the problem?
@AitchBeeBee@ciaranodeorain Why? Isn't a G1 based on the horses that run rather than prize money? Constantly produces that go on to hold GP1 standard as 3YO's
@AitchBeeBee@John1986ire St Marks Basilica started well, Ghaiyyath underlying stats v strong unlucky with injury etc to his top colts, Study of Man/New Bay, COT supported at 75k - yes first couple of seasons matter but more against OMB than being a 10F horse would be being a late developer
@ciaranodeorain@DanR902 For me it suggests maybe time for a new model to identifying the right horses - because that data says the current approach isn't working... with the obvious acknowledgment its like looking for a needle in a haystack...
@DubaiAce@DavidCa14313648@InsightChange The point is that what AMO are doing is no different when you're really trying to start up a top class breeding operation in a competitive environment and in their case without Vincent O'Brien
@DubaiAce If you remove races including 'firm' or 'Epsom' you're left with: G33rd, G3W, G1W, G22nd, G3W, G32nd - incl 8F heavy at 2yo, 1m5 gd-sft at 3 - so potential as NH sire - maybe that was the decision - geld and try to make into the next Rebels Romance or sell as a NH stallion...
@DubaiAce Why should they not go? Normally it is a cost driver - but in the case of Annie Power she is owned by Coolmore so obviously they can use their best sires...
