@Will473334 I agree that the camera angles of the film brought more tension in the film and what was happening to the characters during felt as if you too were in the movie and felt how they felt. The overall them of police brutality is so strong even today such as the BLM movement.
@senorproject I definitely agree with you about the heat. The more hot it got, the more and more events followed. I also agree about racial slurs being used in the film, and it does tell more about the character that says it which tells us their stance on the community and how they feel.
#MEDIA180SP1D06 the film “Do The Right Thing” (1989) was an interesting film. At first, there was a lot of characters and situations happening. Eventually, things in the movie start to escalate to a point where a character, Radio Raheem, was killed. For cinematic tools,(1/7)
topics in the movie in today’s society. It came to my shock when Radio Raheem died, but I was also not surprised by how he died. I was surprised at the fact that Sal would use the n-word during outrage. Sal has stated that he is tolerable with the Black community in the(6/7)
@senorproject I like how it appeals a young audience through a humorous skit which will lead to more sales. Adding comedy to advertisements while stating facts, such as saving money which many people want, about this brand is quite the clever way to make intended audiences buy their product.
@reneecanread I agree that disabled people do not have enough media representation hence leading to wrong perceptions of who they are. Disabled people should be more represented accurately so that they are not stereotyped negatively not only through the media but in the real world.
their jolly-natured mascot. Duolingo strives to put fun in education and learning which many educational learning companies lack. The mascot brings support and courage which helps younger audiences continue to go on. (3/3) https://t.co/D66KbBVXyz
Duolingo’s advertisements have exponentially gained attention due to its unique nature in marketing and advertisement, tying their franchise to reference pop culture and other trends to target younger audiences using their bright green bird “duo” the mascot. (1/3) #MEDIA180SP1D06
Not only does the language learning app bring fun in their advertising, these kinds of advertisements aim to motivate younger audiences learn, even when boredom sheers upon them.(Referring last two images) The key component that brings audiences alike is (2/3)
@_anitaaaaa3 I agree with your points that having cable or public broadcasts can affect our social dynamics. It sets a divide between different social statuses (those who can afford cable and those who cannot). Divides like these cause diversion and separation within society.
@Ali_Med_180 I agree when you watch shows on cable you have to pay to watch them, meaning those who do not have cable or cannot afford to get cable cannot watch those same shows which means less bondage within a community. Having cable is a privilege
Public broadcast networks are more conducive to draw others together because it is more accessible to all meaning there are no financial barriers to watch channels like CBS, NBC, and ABC that allows communities to bond. (2/2)
#MEDIA180SP1D06 I think cable television system has disrupted our sense of community because cable is limited and not free to the public unlike broadcast network television systems are. Therefore, those who cannot afford cable cannot bond well with those who do have cable. (1/2)
@senorproject I agree. The internet gives everyone a platform that preaches opinions and especially gives voices and awarenesses for those who do not have internet privilege. Taking away such freedom takes away knowledge and awareness of others and the world around us.
@Shariar39 Although I do not agree with the FCC controlling the internet, I do agree with the points you’ve made. Children are so exposed to the internet, that it takes away their innocence and childhood. I would agree that the FCC should regulate child safety on the internet.
