Just think about this.

In the past seven days, Russia has killed at least 93 people across Ukraine. Some died instantly. Others died from the injuries they suffered. In a single moment, families, friends, and neighbours lost the people they loved.

Over 500 people were injured by Russian missiles and drones. Many had to be rescued from the rubble. For many, these injuries will affect the rest of their lives.

All of this happened for one reason: Russia deliberately chooses missile and drone terror against civilians. This is a systematic tactic that Russia executes every day, striking Ukrainian cities and villages.

Every air defence system saves lives. Every anti-ballistic capability delivered by Ukraine's partners means more families will be spared this grief.

I do not feel comfortable to say a word in defense of Trump's actions, but he should not be blamed for killing NATO. Siksi kampanjat suvivirttä, kansallisia juhlapyhiä ja suomalaisia perinteitä vastaan eivät ole pelkkää kulttuurikeskustelua. Ne ovat, joko tarkoituksella tai tahattomasti, kampanja Suomea vastaan. Ja näinä aikoina se on vaarallista.

Katsokaa Ukrainaa. Venäjä ei ole vuosien ajan yrittänyt voittaa vain rintamalla. Se on systemaattisesti pyrkinyt murentamaan ukrainalaisten sisäistä tahtoa taistella: kieltämällä heidän kielensä, kiistämällä heidän historiansa ja kulttuurinsa, väittämällä ettei koko kansakuntaa ole olemassa. Vasta kun kansa menettää uskonsa omaan olemassaoloonsa, on se todella lyöty.

Suomi ei saa kävellä tähän ansaan vapaaehtoisesti. Isoisäni sukupolvi puolusti tätä maata, koska heillä oli jotain mitä puolustaa: ei vain maa-ala, jossa he elivät vaan jatkuvuus, perintö, koti. Meidän velvollisuutemme on pitää se elossa.

Perinteistä luopuminen ei ole suvaitsevaisuutta tai edistystä. Se on luovuttamista.
