@georgediano Perhaps the future of humanity is a world where belonging is not determined by birthplace, but by what we build together.
You don't have to be Kenyan to help Kenya win the World Cup.
Afande I think its the work of security organs to stop such cars from even entering Uganda.
Its shameful for a stolen car to reach Uganda, get cleared by customs, pay tax, then you arrest an innocent person who bought it without knowing it was stolen.
That is failure of government. Interpol already has a database of stolen cars. Why is it not mandatory to inspect every car coming to Uganda at Mombasa port before it is cleared. That one check would stop all this mess.
Government should not behave like coffin sellers. They see you falling in the ditch and they keep quiet. They wait for you to die so they can sell you a coffin.
A stolen car should be stopped at Mombasa, not given Ugandan number plates and then later become a police case. If URA can sit and calculate tax to the last shilling, they can also check the chassis number with Interpol before they take the money.
Right now government takes the tax, the dealer takes profit, the thieves keep bringing cars, and the buyer is the one who is arrested. That is not security. That is waiting for the problem then punishing the last person.
Warn people before they fall. Dont wait for the funeral.
@SKasingye Why do you allow stolen vehicles into the country? Some people buy cars in cars in bonds here and I think it should be a responsibility of the country through her security organs to verify all cars at the borders before being imported.
@KO6o0n Until African procurement boards stop treating foreign contractors like benevolent saviours and start enforcing ruthless, uncompromising quality controls, we will continue to get exactly what we tolerate: third-rate infrastructure funded by first-rate debt.
@Solo_MDofficial There are people that like you the way you are, girls. Doctors just want to make money off your insecurity and won't tell you about the risks associated with such surgeries. And they are not telling men to do the same
๐ธMyron explains why most women DON'T qualify for the men they want... BlueFace says women can't be QUEENS without a king ๐ญ๐
โThey just think about what they want and they don't give a shit about what the man wants.โ ๐
I just sat in a car with nothing in front of me.
No steering wheel. No pedals. No mirrors.
Spotless. Drove better than any human.
Houston, youโre next.
Thank you @Tesla@elonmusk@robotaxi
Pres @KagutaMuseveni won the bush war because the NRA treated well the community in which they operated and was tolerant. NRA was the most disciplined force.
These days threats are the order of the day.But we must not forget that powers belongs to the people. Unfortunately for the majority of us in @NRMOnline we have forgotten that Ugandans have a right to petition Parliament or hold a peaceful demonstration.
So even a simple basic right like taking a petition Parliament to petition the peoples' representatives will land the petitioners in prison. As if this is not worse they will be denied bail too by the kangaroo courts.
The security forces and the courts that are torturing innocent Ugandans like these medical interns must know that nothing is permanent. Don't abuse your power and authority. As they say what goes around comes around....
Uganda is here to stay. We found it and we shall leave it behind. So let us exercise restraint and empathy to the powerless. These medical interns are not criminals. They are our children. They have rights. We must respect their rights. Let us stop the intimidation. Pay all the medical interns.
@SpireJim@TumukundeI76198 Thatโs why a parliament full of degree holders cannot pass a bill to pay medical workers!
Imagine an economy where we even have to urgue about healthcare?!! Why ? Why?
Tell me which country in the world that does this,
Mr. President @KagutaMuseveni even with all government doctors working 24/7, we still have a huge shortage of doctors in government health facilities. You should request for a report on the status of doctors in all government health facilities across thw country. Interns come in to supplement. A medical intern spends 5 years in a medical school to get a Bachelor's degree ( MBCHB). In comparison with a three year bachelor's degree programme that would be an equivalent of Bachelor's and master's degree. Check how much a scientist with a three Bachelor's degree is paid in government.
Paying a medical intern with MBCHB ugx 2.5M is small change. One would call it under employment. Interns are not students, they hold MBCHB.
Simcerely the people around you are telling you lies. For the good of the country, let us pay all medical interns. If need be let us reduce on the money for government student loans and pay medical interns. It's just one year. But we have a lot of money to pay A-level holders over ugx 60M per month on top of ugx 300M for a car and other benefits. So how can we fail to pay medical interns. We should have our priorities right.
These medical interns are our future doctors. Nobody knows whom we shall meet in the hospital a few years from now. The interns we neglect today may be the same future Doctors to save our lives tomorrow.
So we stand with medical interns. At times it takes sacrifice to achieve a long term solution. So I advise interns for remain united and fight together for the welfare of all.
No retreat no surrender. You have the support of Ugandans from all walks of life. Yours is a just cause. Fight till the end.
@assempebwa@MoWT_Uganda Begin regulation from quality roads then of driving instruction( i.e: driving schools & instructors) then enforcement of traffic code
The Luwero triangle was not a private estate, and the sacrifices made in the bush belonged to the entire nation, not a single household.
Liberation was meant to restore rule of law, institutional merit, and equal opportunity for all Ugandans from East to West, North to South.
When a struggle meant for national emancipation devolves into 40+ years of family dominance, tribal patronage, and generational succession plans, it betrays the very cause people died for.
Uganda does not belong to a dynasty.
A modern, functional state relies on meritocracy, competence, and democratic transition not bloodlines. It is time to close this chapter and allow a new generation of leaders to build a country where every citizen has an equal stake.
As a doctor working in Karamoja, I get to deal with the harsh reality of not seeing a patient again, even when they need to be seen every month.
The Patient clearly tells me, โThereโs no way Iโm coming back for review. Where will I get the money? I sold everything to be able to come.โ And I know theyโre telling the truth.
Sometimes I wish my patients were exempted from having chronic illnesses and eye conditions because itโs basically a blindness sentence, and a death sentence.
Unfortunately, life doesnโt operate that way. Now Iโm forced to sometimes trade eye surgery for blood pressure control. Eye surgery for 1 month of blood sugar control. Itโs a tough situation.
