🚨President Trump told me: "Why did Bibi have to do a fucking attack? I was so pissee off. I let him know. He has no fucking judgement. I let him know that"
The military says IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir is conducting an assessment "with all relevant commanders" following the strike, and the current assessment is that Iran will fire missiles at Israel.
"The IDF continues to maintain readiness and alertness for a variety of defensive and offensive scenarios," it says, adding that "the IDF will not tolerate fire toward the territory of the State of Israel."
As of now, there are no changes to the Home Front Command's guidelines for civilians.
We are closer to a peace deal than ever before. With finalisation likely expected in the next 24 hours, Pakistan is preparing for the electronic signing of the peace deal immediately after, followed by technical level talks next week.
We would like to thank United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran for their ongoing commitment during the negotiations, and we extend our sincere appreciation to our brothers in the region for their support. We are confident that this historic peace deal will form a strong foundation for lasting peace.

(Reuters) - The terms of the so-called memorandum of understanding (MOU) include reopening the Strait of Hormuz and a lifting of the U.S. blockade on Iranian ports, a senior U.S. official told reporters.
The MOU would lead to the dismantling of Iran's nuclear program and Tehran's highly enriched uranium would be destroyed on site and then taken out of the country, the official said. The terms also include an inspection regime to ensure that it is enforceable in the long term.
Iran, if they comply, will be relieved of economic pressures, including the unfreezing of its assets and sanctions relief, the official added.
Spoke with President Trump tonight as he oversaw the U.S. military strikes against Iran from the Situation Room.
The President told me he spoke directly with Iranian officials tonight who asked him to stop bombing.
49 Tomahawk missiles had been fired by the United States at the time we spoke, along with bombing from fighter jets. Closest target to Tehran was approximately 40 miles outside of the city.
Trump added that the bombing will stop shortly, but that if they don't sign the agreement, "we'll bomb the shit out of them."
President Trump called this "the most violated ceasefire in the history of the world."
Vice President JD Vance told me the United States is dealing with both moderate and more extreme voices in Iran as part of the negotiation process.

Discussed the latest flare up with #Iran with @drothem and @RCBrandenburg for @IsraelPolicy4m . We covered a lot of ground from differences between Washington and Jerusalem to the situation in Lebanon, prospects for a deal with Iran, and more: https://t.co/tEn4BRrHIV
As long as the parties maintain fundamentally different interpretations of the ceasefire in Lebanon, the risk of escalation will remain high.
What is increasingly clear is that each side defines the terms of the ceasefire differently, particularly regarding what actions are permitted, what constitutes a violation, and what level of military activity remains acceptable.
Under these conditions, the current ceasefire is better understood as a temporary pause in hostilities rather than a sustainable framework for stability.
Without a shared understanding of the rules governing the ceasefire, further confrontations are not a question of if, but when.

IDF said it has so far intercepted all missiles launched from #Iran but has identified additional launches fired toward #Israel. Mohsen Rezaei warned that further would be met a more "crushing response."

🚨Israel struck Beirut's southern suburbs Sunday in retaliation to a Hezbollah missile attack on northern Israel, Israeli officials said
🚨Why it matters: Iran threatened last week to launch a missile attack against Israel if it attacks Beirut. Such a move could unravel U.S.–Iran negotiations and reignite the war

A potential peace deal between the United States and Iran hinges on the Trump administration agreeing to release $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets, a top Iranian official told CNN, warning that the US would "enter into a dark corridor" should it resume fighting. https://t.co/7P8ok0ZsYX
A striking trend in Iranian media: more commentators are openly warning that the U.S. and Israel could ultimately resort to nuclear weapons if the current conflict escalates and drags on
Embedded in this argument is a growing claim that Iran’s last remaining deterrent is rapid nuclear weaponization
Whether intended to shape Washington and Jerusalem’s calculations or to prepare public opinion for abandoning Khamenei’s long-standing anti-nuclear weapons fatwa, the debate itself marks a notable shift in Iran’s strategic discourse

KUWAIT: Horrible scenes from Kuwait International Airport after #Iran drone and missile attack hit terminal. At least one killed, 8 injured, flights suspended
An additional wave of Iranian drones attempting to attack U.S. forces in Kuwait failed to impact intended targets tonight. U.S. Central Command air defenses successfully downed multiple drones and ensured no American personnel or assets were harmed.
$100 billion. That’s our estimate of the cost of the Iran War to American households. That’s nearly $750 per household. This includes the additional U.S. military costs and the higher energy and other prices resulting from the war. This is a big economic blow, but deficit-financed tax cuts have cushioned it. Until now. As of May 16th, the bigger tax refunds Americans have received this year no longer cover the higher costs of gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel caused by the war. The financial pressure is thus mounting quickly, particularly on already hard-pressed middle and lower-income households. With the saving rate about as low as it ever goes, unless the war ends soon and energy prices come down, they will have little choice but to rein in their spending, weighing further on the already sagging economy.
