STEM DAY was a success in 1st grade! Students designed a plan to build the tallest and sturdiest Truffula tree. Students engineered their plan and made changes as needed. They honestly had a blast!
Learning should always be fun and engaging! We have been learning about light and shadows. Since it was finally nice outside we ended our day with shadow tag and a shadow hunt around the playground. My first graders loved learning about shadows today!#unitymakesusgreat@UGE_HCS
Students had a blast taking ownership of their learning today! They traced their partners foot. Measured each foot with unifix cubes, compared the two measurements , and shared their measurements with the class!

Today was an exciting day at UGE! We had Polar Express Day. We wore our pajamas, watched Polar express and had hot chocolate. We also had a surprise visit from the Grinch.

Today proved hands on experiences help students retain information! Mrs. Olden was reading a book about weather and my students were able to explain everything they learned about clouds and rain from the experiment they did the day before!
