An Independent Disciplinary Commission has today expelled Southampton from the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs after the Club admitted to multiple breaches of EFL Regulations related to the unauthorised filming of other Clubsโ training.
In addition, the Club has received a four-point deduction that will be applied to the 2026/27 Championship table.
The effect of todayโs order is that Middlesbrough are reinstated into the 2026 Play-Offs and will proceed to the Play-Off Final against Hull City. The final remains scheduled for Saturday 23 May, with the kick-off time to be confirmed.

Never get an easier chance to get in Europe. Only needed to finish 8th. Loads of craps teams, all results going for us alot, and we havent won a game in 5 matches. Literally needed to win one of them. Not good enough
This is match fixing, plain and simple.
All 11 clubs in the league should be calling it out for what it is.
Itโs cheating right in front of our eyes.
Important to note Michael Salisbury (born in Higher Penwortham near Merseyside) isnโt allowed to referee EFC & LFC games. This stems from @FA_PGMOL conflict of interest policy
Yet heโs somehow allowed to be on VAR for Everton games?
I would bet my life I know who he supports..
