@PratitiLikhchi Biscuit ta amar paona ache tahole, amader kokhono niye jaini. Only ice cream for us. And, ekta snickers na Mars kichu ekta dito, children's day te maybe.
@vrundasays_@pilkself It also depends on your supervisor who might decide to put you first since it's your first work :) But yes, in HEP, it's usually alphabetical.
@star_stufff@TradeTexasBig A couple of mine were as well (and they all swear he was the best teacher they've ever had). I also had the privilege of knowing Amitava Raychaudhuri, his nephew, who is an authority on neutrino physics too!
@ThomasVanRiet2@fynmaaandu Ah sorry - I was just wondering if there's a reason we're more comfortable with hierarchies in dimension sizes rather than hierarchies in energy scales (because if I understand correctly, in such theories, the energy hierarchy is often a consequence of the former hierarchy).
@ThomasVanRiet2@fynmaaandu But is there a reason why hierarchies in dimension sizes are better as opposed to those in energy scales (the gauge hierarchy problem)?
@neel_kolhe@meow_hari I find it infuriating, honestly, when people pretend one stream is "better" than another. Something has to change in our prestige-oriented education system.
@fynmaaandu@ThomasVanRiet2 Getting a PhD offer is really difficult, especially in hep. Sucked the soul out of me last year. But don't lose hope and don't look at it as validation - a lot of it is random. Best of luck!
