Canadian Medical Association Past-President 2016-17. Rural Generalist. Crab Hunter Extraordinaire. Tweets my own, retweets mean interest, not always agreement.
#Generalism, the full practice of Medicine, is fascinating, energizing and a life-long addiction!
You don’t have to be rural to practice in this rewarding way.

Tremendous step towards sustainability of Family Medicine in Saskatchewan. Adding National Licensure to ensure availability of locums for educational or parental leave, holidays or personal wellness, esp for rural and remote areas, is the next step. @CMA_Docs@SMA_docs@AlikaMD
#NationalPhysiciansDay🇨🇦🩺⚕️
It’s not necessarily a ‘happy’ day, as many of our days are in fact hard. Physicains feel the burden of the health system and the challenges that we face to care for our patients and ourselves.
I raise my hands 🙌🏼 in admiration, to all of my physician colleagues on this day, May 1st, 2023. Thank you for what you do day-to-day, for your patients, for your families and hopefully today, for yourself.
Urban or rural, downtown, or outreach, family, specialist, or consultant physician, we are all better together.
I am grateful 🙏🏼 as we collectively pause and acknowledge the sacrifices that each of the physicians make, along with the trust that is bestowed upon them when helping to navigate health, illness and disease for our patients.
There are many many more things for us to do in order to make our care more satisfying, and the system more functional to serve.
For today, at least for a brief moment, please acknowledge your amazing work, and let us create hope for a better future than the place we are now. @DoctorsOfBC@SpecialistsBc @BCFamilyDoctors @BCCFP@CMA_Docs@CFPC_e@RCC_bc
So many folks keeping the health system together. On #NationalPhysiciansDay let me say how grateful I am - every day - for my MD colleagues across 🇨🇦.
I became a doctor b/c I wanted to make a difference in pts lives.
I stay a doctor b/c WE make a difference in pts lives.
