a 2008 USCIS audit found more than 13% of already-approved H-1Bs were fraudulent..

that was 18 years ago.. the program kept running..

Manav Bharti University sold 36,025 fake degrees while issuing only 5,455 real ones.. this has been running since at least 2010..

Hey, remember this back in December 2024 when the Democrats’ email was leaked exposing their internal plans for new taxes—including messaging on painting the wealthy as ‘villains’ and ‘spreading that tax policy love around’?

The ones that called this out were told ‘oh no, that’s not true.’ Then Bob Ferguson promised no new taxes after getting sworn in…only to backtrack on that statement and signed the largest tax increase in Washington state history in April/May 2025. And now they’ve raised even more with SB 6346, the ‘Millionaires Tax.’

I wrote a few months ago that if the 2027–29 budget grows at its historical average pace, the state would spend every dollar of the new income tax and still face a deficit of at least $7 billion.

Now OFM is confirming the shortfall is real, but they are blaming inflation, population growth, and economic uncertainty for the shortfalls ahead.

Unfortunately for OFM, the actual data completely disagrees. Over the past decade, inflation rose 39% and the state’s population grew 14.2%.

Spending grew far faster than both combined, as the chart below shows.

Outpacing inflation and population growth by this margin for years shows this is a spending problem.
