Smart study showing a simple test to assess compliance with #Diet intervention (EEN). We will need more like this as dietary intervention become more cornerstones. Next, a stool test for emulsifiers content ?

The number of older adults with #IBD gets less attention than other subsets of patients, but the rate of new diagnoses in this group is among the fastest growing. More outreach to seniors for inclusion in IBD clinical trials (currently underrepresented) is imperative.

@GuildConference@MRegueiroMD@AshwinMDIBD@AshwinMDIBD since diet and meds are not dichotomous, why should this combination be restricted to milder disease. Why not in moderate and severe disease in combo with meds under supervision. I use this routinely in my practice with good results.
More data that cognitive-behavioural and mindfulness training improve outcomes in #IBD... in this study it reduces abdominal pain and fatigue. We have experienced professionals who do this well and help many of our patients! @LaurenBergerMSW

Our recent meta-analysis in @AGA_CGH which suggests increased intake of ultra processed foods is associated with increased risk of Crohn's disease, but not ulcerative colitis

Our health and happiness depend on our gut microbial health. Knowing this, the research on dietary emulsifiers is deeply concerning.

This a very safe intervention with trained Dieticians and may help to address nutritional deficiencies that patients already have at the time of diagnosis upfront. Nutritional deficiencies could be contributors to immune dysregulation in this population.
Induction well done in Crohn’s disease is half the battle won. Utilization of evidence based dietary interventions in CD during induction phase is very underused strategy in adult population and may lead to much higher success in combination with drugs #ibd

@IldikoMe lack of collaboration between basic sciences researchers in IBD and clinical researchers and research projects that involve collaboration are much required. Most of the clinical research is focused on targeting inflammatory pathways to control disease activity, not cure.
