Today marks 10 years since the METRO Green Line opened to passengers! It hasn't always been an easy ride, but the Green Line is nevertheless one of the most successful modern transit investments in the country.

@ericamauter @AkhileshMenawat Agreed. I think the plastics industry has ruined in for “everyone.” IMO, waste stream reduction should be acutely focused on plastics. We can do more to educate about recycling organics, paper, aluminum, at the same time.

@MaryMorseMarti I disagree that eating veg and driving less are equally easy and immediate, knowing how the built environment and entrenched land use policy impacts our ability to bike and use transit. But agree these are the two most common and impactful opportunities for personal action 😬

@yfreemark @ThunderWolf08 Project costs are captured in other criteria, this rating concerns validity of financial planning/cost assumptions of the overall system wide budget. FTA is indicating they’re too optimistic. Overall, the project qualifies for funding, meaning it’s worth it.

Walz is proposing planning funds for the next 3 BRT corridors in TC. I hope we consider another north-south connection in MPLS, one that doesn’t hinge on downtown. We just have D Line now, right? Would love Longfellow to Northeast or Uptown to North.

Last week the National Transportation Safety Board recommended that speed-limiting technology be required on all new cars.

Council Member Lisa Goodman spoke today about her desire to have vacant and boarded building fees bumped up from $7,000 to $24,000. "That might be the proverbial bump in the butt" building owners need. Her frustrations seem to be shared by her colleagues.
