When you place your faith in Jesus, you are making a conscious choice to follow Him --- and He turns on your light. But later, if you blatantly choose to ignore His will and His ways, He can choose to turn off your light.

This is addressed in Hebrews.

THEREFORE: Don't walk away. SEEK HIM. And ALWAYS be seeking Him. As Paul writes in "Ephesians 5:18, "be filled with the Spirit."

The Greek verb here is πληροῦσθε (plēroústhe), and it carries three grammatical features we don't get in the English. The verb is:

--Present tense — an ongoing action, not a one-time event
--Imperative mood — it's a command
--Passive voice — you are the recipient of the filling, not the one doing it yourself

So a literal rendering would be something like "keep on being filled by the Spirit." It is a continuous, repeated, yielded experience rather than a single crisis moment you achieve and then possess permanently.

This has a few practical implications for our walk with Christ:
--It's a command, so it involves your will to obey it — there's something you're responsible to pursue or remain open to.
--It's passive, so it's not self-generated — it's received, not manufactured.
--It's present/continuous, so it implies you can be more or less filled at different times, and that yesterday's filling doesn't automatically carry forward into today or any time during the future.

This stands in contrast to the initial filling at Pentecost (Acts 2) or at your own conversion. The verb used at Pentecost uses aorist constructions, which denote a specific event.

Paul's command in Ephesians is different. It's about the ongoing life of the believer — a habitual posture of yielding to God.

This is why I am regularly encouraging people to read their English translations for concepts, but then look things up in the Greek. Greek has a very precise grammar structure, and its the tense-aspect of a word or phrase that can change the theological picture.

Keep on being filled by the Spirit. It's a daily surrender of our will to His. It's acknowledging His way in everything we do -- not living for our own pleasures or desires, but for His.

By not doing so, we run the risk of Him telling us He never knew us.

Verses to study:

Hebrews 6:4-6
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.

The word enlightened (Greek: φωτισθέντας, phōtisthentas) literally means to have light turned on.

Hebrews 10:26-29 reinforces this:
For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries .... How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace?

The word "deliberately" in v. 26 is key. If we deliberately walk away from the leading of God's Spirit, from surrendering to His will, that is a blatant choice to forego the blessings of God.

These passages (among others) are clear: If God can turn on your light when you choose to follow Him, He can just as easily turn off your light if you later reprioritize your own will over His.

NOTE: None of this applies to falling into sin and then repenting of it. 1 John 1:9 says if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

The idea there is to CONFESS to Him and REPENT and ask forgiveness.

Take Kind David as an example. He committed horrific sins by committing adultery with Bathsheba and then having her husband killed. But he later repented and asked God for forgiveness. God forgave him. Don't misunderstand, there were negative consequences. David's kingdom took a downward turn after he committed those sins ----- but his salvation was still in tact.

David did not dig in his heals and say he was perfectly okay doing what he wanted in life. He returned to God ... and sought to be filled again with the Holy Spirit.

That's what is meant by "Be being filled."

It's not one-and-done. It's an ongoing activity of surrendering to God all our selfish desires.

🚨 BRET WEINSTEIN ON JOE ROGAN: “This is clear fraud.”

In one of the most explosive exchanges yet on the Joe Rogan Experience, evolutionary biologist Bret Weinstein laid bare what he calls “the greatest medical scandal in modern history.”

Weinstein didn’t hold back:

“Taking the mRNA COVID shots off the market should have been an easy decision. They should be embarrassed — horrified — by the harm they caused.”

Then came the bombshell:

“The product that was actually injected into billions of people involved DNA plasmids — and there is massive contamination in the shots, including the SV40 promoter — a known carcinogenic element.”

He explained that what was tested was not what was injected:

“For you to put one product through safety testing, and then inject people with something different — that’s fraud.”

The SV40 promoter, originally from simian virus 40, was discovered in leftover vaccine vials by independent scientist Kevin McKernan, and Weinstein warned it could enable genetic integration inside human cells.

“We were told there’s no DNA — that integration was impossible. That was a lie. There is DNA, and not just any DNA — but DNA with a carcinogenic promoter.”

If proven true, this would mean safety testing was bypassed, regulators were misled, and the immunity from liability collapses.

“The immunity from liability is dependent on there having been no fraud,” Weinstein said. “And there clearly was fraud.”

This isn’t just about science anymore.
It’s about truth, accountability, and justice for billions who were never told the full story.
