@lougrims I agree! Also they'd have a lot of data to back up reliability and lifetime figures considering all the thrusters they have up there. Idk if this would give "statistical confidence" but it's certainly more than what everyone else claims with ground tests/limited flight heritage
@debapratim_@DJSnM@Astra Anyways, idk for sure. Maybe at the end of the of the day it is more convenient to do diff. throttling also in terms of perf. and there are other issues that make it preferable to carry the TVC mass, such as for instance control authority or reliability.
@debapratim_@DJSnM@Astra One advantage would be a lighter system, as @DJSnM suggests. However, in terms of performance I'm not sure it's convenient: while you're decreasing the cos losses you're introducing others at engine level due to throttling (e.g. nozzles are adapted for specific exh pressure..)

@DJSnM If you just need x-y plots you can run GMAT by line of command, output what you need in a report file, and then use some other tool for plotting (python for example). Much faster this way
@citrus9690@PLD_Space@Virgin_Orbit I always print on regular a4, then reinforce it by gluing layers where necessary. In these models additionally there is regular tape on top of the print for nice "glossy" effect. They almost look like plastic models this way :)
In the future, @PLD_Space Miura and @Virgin_Orbit LauncherOne will compete for payloads up to 300 kg (LEO). It is interesting to notice how LauncherOne is smaller than the first stage of Miura, being air-launched. Both are available on my website! Which is your favourite?
