@chelyndusk The main difference to me. Wow (and all Blizzard) had been PC only. We all knew FF was on console. That game plays great on console. To add console to the WoW community now feels more like a money grab vs it is in the works. Why didnt this happen 10 years ago?
We always talked about the Warcraft killer. I dont think many of thought, the call would come from inside the house. If the addon removal is tied to getting the game on consoles, then count me out. Also, way to go capitalism and Microsoft for changing the spirit of Blizzard.
I was ambivalent about microsoft as a company before today. they'd had a history of monopolistic bullshit but hey who doesn't?
after this announcement tho I will be running for congress in 2026 as a single-issue candidate: break up microsoft and unwind the blizzard acquisition
Its absolutely wild to me that Blizzard has never even come close to the level of storytelling they accomplished in Surumar.
Hopefully Midnight is their return to form.
Wowhead is giving away two Epic Editions of Midnight! To enter, all you need to do is repost, and leave a comment about what you first plan to do when the expansion launches. After all, everything good happens after Midnight...

the ability has been around since the beginning of wow, iconic enough that an entire website is named after it, & now it's being deleted from the game. it's very sad to see.
blizzard has had 20 years of robust third party addon development to inspire them or straight up borrow from. they have used almost none of it. now they're effectively banning competition and I'm supposed to believe they'll be motivated to continuously improve the ui?
hello???
Are they going to adapt and give us a way to create? Or, how about the trinkets that have unique stacks that we are suppose to track for max dps. I agree. This might be a deal breaker for playing WoW for me. I know i dont need the addons, but they are so integral at this point.
Cooldown manager feedback:
let players have agency of what they want to track and where they want to track it. Right now, your primary 'tracking bar' only shows what blizzard has determined they think you should track. I think this is why something like WA was so valuable in a sense of having some control of what we, as the player, find important.
I don't really understand why it's predetermined and not just a free for all
instead of Essential Cooldowns / Utility
it should just be a ability (and buff) search
Add to Buff Bar
Add to Top Bar
Add to Mid Bar
Add to Bottom Bar
and honestly, allow us to have as many as we want, notice how I personally track pots above my health bar, it would be nice to have something like that in the blizzard UI as well
