@ChemicalFire @tjm585 The presence of BCTs can deter adversaries, assure allies and partners, provide training opportunities between militaries, demonstrate US political resolve... lots of things. Establishing the why isnt what I do, but a 70% BCT can do that job 100% as well as a full BCT.

At the end of the day, the problem you’re suggesting just isn’t. It’s a valid frustration (esp for units) but not a problem.

@ChemicalFire @tjm585 No. I said that FORSCOM will get you a full-MTOE BCT when it’s needed. But it’s not.

I get it, at your level you’re having to make compromises. So is FORSCOM and the whole enterprise. But no units go out the door that cannot meet their existing CCMD requirements.

@ChemicalFire @tjm585 Show me one full-MTOE requirement for a BCT that is getting shot at in theater, and FORSCOM will get you that unit. Until the requirement exists, it’s not a requirement.

That said, ReARMM had done pretty admirably in multiple crisis scenarios.

2) Validated requirements frequently go unsourced. They have been for years. It’s all part of the GFM process.

@ChemicalFire @tjm585 Tim is wrong, the service force provider has planners whose whole job is to interface with the CCMDs and ASCCs.

Most of this is a non issue. FORSCOM is very good at managing force generation and cycling units through readiness.

@Angry_Staffer FORSCOM needs your mythical laser-enabled equestrian capability. Please call the front desk to submit USR reports and earliest achievable LAD soonest. Two CCMDs are asking for exactly this, if anyone else gets it, NORTHCOM will probably ask for it as well.
