Most computer scientists (myself included) have shallow social sciences knowledge. I argue that #AI researchers need significant social science training to understand and empathize with complex issues, like bias and equity, and may be even history and law.

Our new paper on de-biasing MT models using self-training approach is now online. We also propose a new metric ΔR which works better than ΔG when we are dealing with neutral gendered sentences. Work done in summer of 2020 with our intern Prafulla.
