Ofcom has said that GB News can still use politicians like Jacob Rees-Mogg as presenters because there is no clear consensus from the Public that we don't want them.
Smash the RT and the Like and show them a consensus, get them off our TVs.
Today is not a 1979 moment. And dangerous to suggest such a thing. With climate crisis and unprecedented concentration of wealth and inequality it is much much worse. There is no precedent. Todays politicians need to truly face reality.

@nmcinroy It's the perfect strategy for weaklings - and results in zero change for anything of significance (oh yes, throw Rwanda and that barge onto that list too)
@nmcinroy Neil have you picked up Sunak's core strategy to sound like a bold PM? ... basically: make big & bold sounding announcements which are bordering on meaningless because of a whole load of other under the radar stuff. Examples: roll back on EV target dates & national insurance cuts
What a load of nonsense. There are no both sides to the debate! One side has got overwhelming evidence of science over decades. The other is based on hope and wishful thinking, often backed by the very wealthy- who refuse to change. We need to end fossil fuel use now.
Climate crises caused by the economic model based on unsustainable resource/material use and concentration of wealth and power is the preeminent political issue our time. Huge change is needed. However, most UK political parties avoid debate and consideration of it.
@nmcinroy An interesting interview of a professor on Radio 4 the other day. He claimed collectively COPs had completely failed to reduce CO² in the atmosphere & that we should look elsewhere for change; bottom up not top down i.e. reduce demand rather than just pointing finger at supply.
Saudi Arabia is blocking a strong outcome at COP28 on phasing out fossil fuels. This could scupper a COP28 deal. If they want to be a global leader -- on sport and in bidding for the World Cup -- they need to prove to the world which side of history they’re on.
An enjoyable morning volunteering, welcoming visitors to our @lutoncouncil@lutonrising Retrofit Showhome. Some really interested and knowledgeable people through the door today! Only two more weeks to book at https://t.co/GdUEgmsQx9
Politico journalist, "You'll have spent more time on a private plane, than on the ground at the summit. Are you really taking #COP28 seriously?"
Rishi Sunak, "I wouldn't measure our impact here by hours spent. I would measure it by the actual things we're doing that are making a difference"
