Unfortunately, I do want a provider. I do want a protector. I do want a leader. I do want a dominant man. I do want emotional maturity and effective communication. I do want mental stability. I do want to be spoiled. I do want self-awareness. I do want someone who's clingy, obsessed with me, and makes me feel safe. I do want someone who chooses me every time. And nobody is going to make me feel bad for wanting those things in a partner.
After my breakup, I chose no revenge, no rebounds, no sex. Just straight holy and healing. And that’s the best decision I ever made. Taking time to myself and getting right with God. Now my glow is different.
Maybe the reason why they never met the soft you is because they never created a safe space for you to exist. It's really hard to bloom in an environment that forces you to keep your guard up.
One thing I cannot tolerate at this grown age is people who refuse to understand cause and effect. Your actions produced this outcome. Why are you shocked by the consequences of something you deliberately set in motion, then standing there playing victim?
please teach your daughters that having a voice is more important than being nice. having a backbone is more important than being palatable. having standards is more important than being liked. and having self respect is more important than being chosen.
pregnancy & postpartum are two of the most vulnerable times a women can go thru.. i’ll never forgive a mfer that did me wrong going through either one!!!
They say, “Marry someone you can suffer with.” I used to think that sounded sad. Now I understand. Real love isn’t just dinners, flowers and beautiful moments. It’s the person who stays when life gets heavy, the one who holds you when you’re drowning and when you can’t keep yourself afloat, starts building you a boat. Love is choosing each other when life isn’t easy.
