I was born in Lagos and grew up there. When Bola was governor, I lived partly in Benin and Enugu. Back then, in Enugu, I paid WAEC fees for some children whose parents couldn’t afford them. I thought that if these children were in Lagos, I wouldn’t have had this burden because the fees were free in Lagos.

Fast forward to when Bola was campaigning for president and Peter Obi was also running. I didn’t know much about Peter Obi, but I did know one thing about Bola: his provision of free WAEC fees. However, the core Igbo part of me leaned towards Peter Obi, despite knowing nothing about him. His attitude, touring, engagement, and the social media buzz made me believe he might be the chosen one.

Despite this belief, I found myself frequenting the pages of core APC supporters like @LegendaryJoe , @PastorMarvy , @woye1 , @OpeBee @jeffphilips1 among others whose names I can't recall now. Oh man, these guys are very knowledgeable and can write for Africa. From them, I began to learn more about Bola. I started with what I knew about Tinubu and then believed everything they said about him.

For Obi, I began to see that everything was mainly social media hype, and since I couldn’t pinpoint any specific achievements of his as governor, it was hard to continuously root for him.

The next challenge I faced was how to openly support a man everyone I knew, including my family, opposed. One day, I made the decision and, like Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, I woke up one morning and announced on Facebook, where I have many friends, that Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the chosen one. This caused chaos, and I lost some friends. However, my support for Bola has never wavered. When I came across people like @chigozie0102 and @AdaAnambra2023 I became super excited the more that there are still sensible and logical ones among us.

So, I can relate very well to what @ONsogbu went through for being an APC member in the eastern region. My saving grace was that I live abroad, where no one could physically confront me.

I’m glad he was helped, is okay, and back home with his family. May President Bola Ahmed Tinubu succeed and may Nigeria prosper in his tenure.
