I’m not sure what you mean here. Just kidding, I read your words and understand what you are intending. Aren’t you assuming the thing you’re trying to disprove by writing your thoughts out and leaving me to understand them on my own? Also, isn’t ironic that you’re pointing to scripture as authoritative in proving your point?
@aigkenham I was just followed by a profile purported to be you. Is it a secondary account or an imposter? Wanted to make sure you’re aware it exists. https://t.co/1L1iKYTCbb
@adam_t_james@bwestmke@MikeCosper@PastorMark FWIW, I’m a pastor and my church ordained me to serve in that office, not my family. The church qualifies Pastors and the church disqualifies pastors. Can a church be wrong? Sure can. That doesn’t change the order God has established.
@DennisE81532726@PastorDScott@5solas It is wrong, however, to talk or write as if the church first began to draw up a canon after Marcion had published his.”

@DennisE81532726@PastorDScott@5solas “In particular, when Marcion drew up his canon about ad 140, it was necessary for the orthodox churches to know exactly what the true canon was, and this helped to speed up a process which had already begun. (1/2)
@farmingandJesus@trinity_314 I know some who say he taught that because he also taught the Scriptural truth that God changes those he saves (see The Gospel According to Jesus). The truth that God saves the helpless and then transforms them into the image of Christ is such a beautiful and comforting truth.
I encourage young men to pause the TAKE OVER THE WORLD WITH THE DOMINION BROS clickbait podcast they're listening to (whether conservative or Christian), and think about a godly older man in a sound local church they could talk with and learn from.
This kind of man will not be a celebrity. He will be a steady and faithful older man--the kind who shovels the parking lot when it snows, who cleans the toilets with no complaint, who has been faithfully married to one wife for 40 years (or who has had a godly walk as a single man all his days), who visits lonely church members at the local nursing home, who stays at church until the last person leaves in order to turn off the lights, who has taught Sunday School for 36 consecutive years, and who puts exactly none of this on social media.
Once you've identified such a man, I encourage you to close the laptop, turn off the phone, and ask that man to meet once a week at a coffee shop. Tell him you'd like to glean some wisdom from him, and ask him questions each week about a different topic: "Humility," "Loving a Woman," "Being a Godly Single Man," "Pursuing Purity," "Cultivating a Devotional Walk," "Repenting of Sin," "Building a Work Ethic," and so on.
In other words, nothing fancy. Nothing exciting. Nothing that requires some academic super-star. Just steady, normal discipleship in godliness. Young men: try it. You might be pleasantly surprised at what you harvest over time.
Im fact, it might just be a "normie" discipleship relationship that ends up changing your life.
The church is the pillar and foundation of the truth (1 Timothy 3:15). As its foundation, it's to hold it firm so that it does not collapse under the weight of false teaching. As its pillar, it's to hold it high so that it's not hidden from the world.
The local church isn't just another Christian organization. It's uniquely entrusted by Christ to guard the truth, protect His flock, and determine kingdom citizenship. With divine authority and an eternal guarantee, the church acts on Christ's behalf.
@DrFrankTurek Conservatives stormed the capital and attacked the seat of our democracy the last time we lost. Let’s not be guilty of the same kind of exaggeration that lost the left this election. Criticize the left but let’s be honest about our sides problems too. 2/2
@Goryodynasty @kevinmyoung I’m noticing a pattern here. Substantive arguments on this subject don’t seem to get responses from @kevinmyoung. Perhaps this was asked and answered by him in the past? Anyone have a link to that post? Any links to his answers to @MikeWingerii’s arguments?
@kevinmyoung Jesus didn’t talk about the Bible? 🤔 Do a quick search on how many times he is quoted as having said, “It is written” or the equivalent. As for inerrancy, it seems he makes related statements to that end as well. Paul and Peter have much to say about these as well.
"The truth is, Christianity has thrived for two millennia because of normal, faithful, and anonymous Christian men and women. For every heroic martyr in church history, there have been hundreds or even thousands of heroic mothers." https://t.co/cF6gJ9ttQ6
@joelmorin @JoelWBerry It appears he hasn’t even read the article he screen-shot so, I’m not sure how he’d know anything about any presumed change. Do you see the problem? We wouldn’t want that kind of prejudiced judgment leveled at us, but we’re ok doing to those on the blacklist. It’s not right.
