Principal Secretary State Department for MSME Development Hon. Susan Mangeni announced that additional training will be conducted for 2,500 refugees in Dadaab and another 2,500 youth from host communities in Dadaab and Fafi. She stated that a total of 7,500 beneficiaries in Garissa County will receive business development support, including two months of mentorship by trainers who will also monitor and evaluate the businesses. 2,194 beneficiaries today received the Business Start-Up Capital. She encouraged youth to seek accurate NYOTA information through the proper channels, including local chiefs. She also urged beneficiaries to explore other opportunities such as the KJET project.
Garissa Governor Nathif Jama Adam (EGH) assured beneficiaries of the county government’s support, including the provision of a conducive business environment, one-year waivers on business licenses, training, and support in developing and promoting viable business ideas.

📌 UPDATE ON NYOTA PROJECT BUSINESS SUPPORT COMPONENT

The Nyota Project will roll out the Business Support component
Classroom training, in the last cohort covering 17 counties from Central Kenya, Nairobi, North Eastern and Coastal region, beginning Wednesday, 26th November 2025, to Saturday, 29th November 2025, in respective constituency headquarter.

The Business Support Component is targeting to empower over 100,000 vulnerable youth across all 1,450 wards in Kenya, with at least 70 beneficiaries per ward.
