"If you want to heal the cycles that lead you to cause harm. You have to heal it all the way through.
Just being less harmful but remaining bitter and angry about it doesn't actually help. It only sets you up to cause harm in other ways."
The reason "Everything is a Subscription" is because the elites realized that if you "own" things, you are dangerous. If you own your house, your car, and your tools, you can say "No." If you rent your life, you have to say "Yes" to everything.
Every Filipino, including the faithfuls of Iglesia Ni Cristo, has the right to protest. But the rest of us also have the right to ask: why would a religious organization stand in defense of someone who has admitted to receiving large sums of money from private individuals while serving as a public official? On his own, and unprovoked, Senator Marcoleta has publicly and personally admitted to it. No faith, whatever the religion may be, should be used to shield corruption or place anyone above accountability and the rule of law.
“you cannot spend years glorifying violence, celebrating killings & treating human life as disposable then act shocked when a generation raised in that environment begins to reflect what it has learned.”
PNP is finding a scapegoat on computer games, instead of acknowledging that the school shooting was the result of the culture of violence and impunity that it bred and proliferated throughout the years.
no libraries, no weatherproof third spaces that aren't malls or cafes, little investment into afterschool programs or sports that aren't basketball (and even then it's a streetside or improvised court someplace), next to no support for budding artists and creatives
Damage has been done. It’s clear na wala silang pake kung magkalat sila ng fake news o hindi. Ilang taon na silang nagbebenefit sa mapanirang script. Kailangan lang nila makalat yung propaganda nila. Check niyo comments, their supporters don’t care na binawi ni Imee yung video.
@Pontifex "To disarm does not mean rejecting technology, but preventing it from dominating humanity. It means freeing technology from monopolistic control and opening it to discussion and debate, therefore making it human-friendly"
Agreed but the tech psychopaths will use it to enslave us
@Pontifex (In paragraph 239, Pope Leo XIV continues) I invite everyone to cherish places and times where physical presence remains crucial, such as shared meals, Christian community gatherings, time spent with the lonely and serving the poor.
Humanity built the roads. Humanity built the power grid. Humanity built the internet. Humanity built the universities. Humanity created the data. Humanity trained the workers. Humanity generated the content. Humanity became the product.
Now a handful of corporations want to take collective human knowledge, automate the world with it, consume massive amounts of energy and water, and funnel the wealth upward while ordinary people struggle to survive in the system THEY built.
No.
If AI is truly built on the backs, minds, labor, data, creativity, and lives of humanity, then the benefits belong to humanity — not just a tiny class of technocratic elites.
The wealth created by automation should return to the people. Not become the foundation for digital feudalism.
Let me trace the timeline here because nobody's connecting it.
Step 1: Scrape the entire internet. Every book, every article, every conversation, every piece of art, every forum post. Do it without asking. Do it without paying.
Step 2: Train a model on all of it. Call it "artificial intelligence."
Step 3: Go to BlackRock's Infrastructure Summit and announce: "We see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter."
Step 3 is where you sell people's own knowledge back to them. On a meter.
They took the collective output of human thought, compressed it into a model, and now they want to charge you by the token to access a version of what you and everyone you know already created.
One Reddit user put it perfectly: "They stole all this data from us, the people, our life's work, creativity, art, by devouring the internet and blowing through all copyright laws. Now they want to sell it back to us in the form of a utility."
Imagine if someone photocopied every book in the public library, burned the library down, and then opened a subscription service for the copies.
That's the metered intelligence business model.
And they're pitching it to infrastructure investors as though they invented water.
I came across a theory that AI is starting to make more mistakes because the internet is increasingly polluted with AI slop. The idea of AI cannibalising itself into obscurity is one of my favourite things ever. I hope it is true and I hope it becomes impossible to fix.
In UP Manila’s schools of health sciences, midwifery students had to pull out from the communities kahit part ng curriculum nila ang practicum. The sole reason ay dahil iniintimidate sila ng mga local officials and military sa area just because they’re from UP.
Sara Duterte commends and lauds the Philippine Army combatants in the Toboso 19 massacre, hinting that “under her leadership”, this will be one of her focus areas.
Just a glimpse of how much we will be regressing under a Duterte 2.0 presidency.
