Like, here is where CERT points out that the whole CVSS system is essentially producing random numbers, because there's no ... reason to weight post-auth vs pre-auth differently from Network vs Host-based.
Hospital downgrades patent on transplant list because they think she can’t afford follow up care, but will reconsider if she successfully begs the Internet for $10k. America can never be “great” if this is how healthcare works.
I'm sick of voting for people who do not represent my views. This time around, I'm voting for @NealGale2018 (US Senate) and @metroecos (Paul Glover, PA Governor). A vote for someone who represents your hopes and values is never a wasted vote. #MedicareForAll#BanFracking
November is here, and that means a massive shift is coming. And by "massive" I am of course referring to the redefinition of the kilogram unit of mass that the world has been building up to for more than 100 years. Let me explain:
Talking about voting security and tech is roughly like talking about energy policy, if
- power plants were regularly literally exploding
- power plant makers were denying that explosions are bad
- people threaten you if you point out that perpetual motion machines don’t work.
If a company can double its minimum wage overnight and continue operating normally, perhaps—just spitballing—there is no correlation between value produced by labor and the wage paid by the employer benefitting from said labor?

Jeff Bezos could end hunger & homelessness & still have more money than he could spend. Instead he works employees to death while expanding his empire into the media & surveillance state. Oh, & he pays no taxes. This is what oligarchy looks like.
Let’s add a little context to the discussion of voting security in the US. To do that, I’m going to do something Computer Scientists are bad at - I’m going to talk about history. Specifically, let’s look at the Help America #Vote Act (HAVA) of 2002. 1/
The software to create the black hole in the movie 'Interstellar' is a full implementation of Einstein's equations in 40,000 lines of C++, and rendered thousands of 23-megapixel IMAX frames on a 32,000-core render farm at about 20 core-hours per frame https://t.co/6bt87bIR9l
Quaternions were a big interest of mine in graduate school, interesting to see development of octonion algebra in physics. Abstract algebra is pretty awesome. https://t.co/ZB8YyNAbwR
Vulnerabilities in touchscreen voting machines get most of the attention on election system security, but backend systems can be equally insecure, with equally serious consequences. Excellent reporting from @KimZetter . https://t.co/1buJbgZyaw
So... I suppose it’s time to share a bit.
I have always worked to try to educate the government so they can make better informed decisions that will benefit all citizens.
