Over the past eight years, Ethiopia faced the scourge of COVID 19. Ethiopia faced a terrorist war that consumed the lives of at least one million people, and caused destruction of property in the billions of dollars. Ethiopia was victimized by sanctions imposed by the Biden administration and its lackey European Union. The Bli-Den (Blinken Biden) administration hellbent on regime change in Ethiopia left no stones unturned to restore the terrorist TPLF to power.

Egypt kept on beating the drums of war and tried to arm-twist Ethiopia into surrendering her sovereign rights to Nile waters using the Trump administration to prevent completiioon of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). She also sneaked in troops into Somalia in the guise of fighting Al Shabab while the real reason is to intimidate Ethiopia. (Suffice it to ask, “Has Egypt ever won a war in the last one thousand years? Just asking.)

Sudan, or should I say Sudan of Burhan to this day continues to train TPLF and other terrorists to destabilize Ethiopia. The Eritrean proto-state continues to fund, train and arm bandits and brigands to wreak havoc and destruction in Northern Ethiopia.

Domestically, on an issue that is near and dear to my heart, namely education, merely 8.4% of the students who took the 2024/25 Ethiopian academic year’s Grade 12 exams registered passing mark. Heartless thugs are keeping school children out of school, and in documented cases have killed children and their teachers for attending classes. These thugs and others like them have made a business out of extortion and kidnapping for ransom. These marauding terrorists roam the countryside creating misery and suffering for the local people.

Ethiopia completed the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, the largest dam in Africa and proved to the world that Africans can start a mega project and complete it with their blood, sweat, tears and money, without begging the World Bank, the IMF or other lending institutions. With a capacity of 5,150 MW, the GERD will double Ethiopia's electricity generation and enable power exports across the Horn of Africa.

Ethiopia’s Koysha Dam, the second largest in Africa, is over 70 percent complete and should come online in a couple of years, ensuring energy security and sovereignty for Ethiopia. Ethiopia is advancing its first nuclear power plant project through a strategic partnership with Russia's Rosatom as well as actively developing geothermal and wind power to supplement its hydropower production,

Ethiopia has become a leader not only in generating clean renewable energy but also in taking global leadership in environmental protection, conservation and sustainable growth. PM Abiy’s Green Legacy project has planted nearly 50 billion tree seedlings. The United Nations has formally recognized Ethiopia's Green Legacy Initiative as a leading global model for climate action, with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) actively supporting its implementation. A dozen African countries have launched their own green legacy programs following Ethiopia’s example. Ethiopia has been selected to host the United Nations' COP32 (Convention oof the Parties) climate summit in 2027.

Ethiopia is the first country in the world to ban internal combustion engines and now has over 100,000 electric vehicles (EVs) on its roads, representing 8% of all registered vehicles, with a national goal to reach 500,000 EVs by 2030 and replace 95% of fuel-powered vehicles.

Ethiopian Airlines, voted the best airlines in Africa for 8 years straight, continues to grow and expand. Ethiopian Airlines played a significant role during the COVID-19 pandemic by maintaining operations when many carriers suspended flights, earning global recognition for its response. Ethiopian Airlines is the world's fourth-largest airline by the number of countries served. Bishoftu International Airport which will be completed in 2030 will be the largest mega airport in Africa is expected to handle 110 million passengers annually.

Ethiopia day is the largest wheat producer in Africa, having overtaken Egypt to become the continent's top producer.

The Addis Ababa Corridor Development Project, a massive urban renewal initiative, has transformed the capital into a modern, tourist-friendly, and livable city. The project has widened roads, created pedestrian/bike paths, and built public spaces, while enhancing infrastructure efficiency.

The Addis Ababa Riverside Project, a 56-kilometer urban renewal initiative has revitalized the city’s riversides. This project has transformed polluted and neglected riverbanks into green public spaces, parks, and walkways while upgrading infrastructure, enhancing tourism, and reducing flooding.

The Chaka Project currently under construction is a massive urban development residential and commercial project which includes when completed a national palace on a hilltop and over 4 thousand units along with shopping malls and commercial spaces.

A shocking and deeply disturbing video released by the Amhara FANO National Movement shows young children — many appearing no older than 13 — being subjected to target shooting and military training. These are not volunteers; they are impressionable kids who have almost certainly been coerced or forced into the ranks of FANO, robbed of their childhood and thrust into a brutal conflict they never chose.
It is an absolute disgrace and a moral outrage to see children this young being weaponized as cannon fodder in someone else’s war. While these innocent girls and boys are risking their lives on the frontlines, their so-called leaders are like Zemene Kassie living in comfort and luxury, safely tucked away in places like Uganda and Sudan, far from the violence they orchestrate.
This is not resistance — it is exploitation of the most vulnerable. Using child soldiers is a war crime under international law, and no political grievance justifies it. All parties in Ethiopia’s conflicts, including Fano, must immediately stop recruiting and training minors, release those already ensnared, and allow these children to return to school and safety. Leaders who hide abroad while sacrificing the next generation deserve nothing but contempt.

It’s clear that Amhara FANO National Movements are learning a thing or two from Shabia.

Kudos to Ethiopian police for arresting members of an alleged people smuggling ring responsible for trafficking 3,000 victims from East African nations, imprisoning them in Libya, and torturing many. This will only stop when region's economy improves.
