Filipina beauty queen #CatrionaGray once again captivated the pageant world as she fulfilled her hosting duties at the Miss Alcantara 2026 Grand Coronation Night in Alcantara, Cebu, on August 28, 2026.

During the question-and-answer portion of the competition, Gray had a memorable exchange with one of the candidates, who openly shared her admiration for the former Miss Universe.

“[I've been an] avid fan since your journey in Miss Universe started, so I just wanted to thank you for coming here,” the candidate told Gray.

The contestant also recalled one of Gray’s most memorable moments during her historic #MissUniverse 2018 journey, even reciting part of the winning answer that helped the Filipina beauty queen secure the fourth Miss Universe crown for the Philippines.

Gray, who appeared visibly impressed by the candidate’s passion for pageantry, then turned the conversation into an opportunity to ask about her aspirations beyond the local competition.

“Can you imagine yourself competing in a national pageant one day?” Gray asked.

The candidate did not hesitate to share her long-held dream.

“Well, that [has been] my dream since I was a kid, and I’ve been looking forward to doing that. I hope someday, with my work and hard work, I will be able to represent the country, the Philippines, on the international stage as well,” she replied.

The exchange highlighted more than just the candidate’s admiration for Gray. It also reflected how the 2018 Miss Universe continues to inspire a new generation of aspiring beauty queens who dream of following in her footsteps.
