Today, seven youth activists🙎🙎‍♀️ arrested on Monday at TotalEnergies’ headquarters were remanded to Luzira maximum prison until September 17, 2026.

It is worth noting that these activists had already been held beyond the 48-hour detention limit.

They join 10 others sent to prison on August 01,2026. This brings the total of activists arrested to 17.
We are deeply concerned🤔 about these procedural breaches.

A court has ordered that over 2,600 bags of charcoal and 1,700 pieces of timber seized from illegal loggers within Bugoma forest be sold and the proceeds be used to conserve the forest 🌳.

Bugoma forest is a rich biodiversity and ecological hotspot found in the Albertine graben, Kikuube district. It is home to the Uganda mangabey, a rare primate species endemic to Uganda and over 600 chimpanzees among others.
