I feel like I had been so sheltered from harsh realities of reproductive justice. This class has given me the opportunity to learn history that is not written by old white guys, and to be exposed to the detrimental effects of colonialism and racism #Rterms
Although this is a fictional story, imagine how many women actually go through a similar situations. It really sparks concern in me that these women have to put aside not only their physical health but also mental, to follow laws that choose not to help them. #rterms (4/4)
I remember a TV show character who had a child out of rape. It was not here choice to keep the child but what others wanted her to do. Her son looked so much like the man that took advantage of her that she could not stand the sight of him. #rterms (1/4)
The mental health of both the child and mother stayed poor throughout their life. Abortion is not just a choice of having a baby or not. Each woman has her own story on why she choose the path she did. We need to be accepting of those choices. #rterms (3/4)
@JaneDoe26800312 Agreed. There is a lot that goes into the consideration of abortion. The need exists now and will exist throughout future generations. We need to make changes that will allow safe and legal aid for women who are considering abortion procedures. #rterms
"Women's hesitancy to report comes with good reason - even today, police departments and healthcare professionals frequently mishandle cases, victim-blame, and further traumatize victims" #RTerms
Women find abortion services hard to access for various reasons including the following: inability to afford procedure, having to travel far to reach facilities, the abundance of legal restrictions and threats from anti-abortion groups (Fried, 2000). #rterms
Women of colour have seen the short end of the stick when it comes to being considered as important members of the pro-choice movement. They have been over looked throughout history and deemed incapable of making decisions for themselves. #rterms
Women were forced sterilized in attempts to stop future indigenous generations. In many cases, women were unaware about the procedures and misinformed. These women were told lies about their conditions and prescribed treatments that were sometimes not required. #rterms
to all the times that either me or another classmates would get our periods during the middle of the school day and not have anything on us.... then having to ask around to see if anyone had one to lend. proud of BC #rterm

Criminalization only makes abortion unsafe! We should be creating a safe society for women to be apart of. The bans trying to be put in place in the states need to be stopped. #Rterms
agreed. this goes for any occupation. if you sign up for a job that revolves around dealing with all sorts of people, you can not be racist or biased to a certain group. learn some decency. #rterms
“No matter what men think, abortion is a fact of life. Women have always had them; they always have and they always will. Are they going to have good ones or bad ones? Will the good ones be reserved for the rich, while the poor women go to quacks?”

Every individual in unique to their situations such as socio-economic status and race. Laws and regulations that were put up in relation to abortion rights were harmful for some and beneficial for others. #rterms
Women of color, low-income women and younger females actually experience more restrictions when it comes to abortion services post legalization. Anyone who disagrees can take a class of reproductive rights! #rterms
