@SpicyBotrytis I don’t quite follow this. Uni administrators are often dual appointed as faculty, no? How would it be any different then granting agencies controlling research?
Just watching the storm this comment caused. I believe the root-cause of livable wages problem in academia is Unis normalizing PI’s paying for student salaries ( as well as their own ) from extramural funding. RAships should be funded by the department and be work-study imo
Congrats for your very own #FirstAuthorPub Travis Wrightsman ☝️ @EdBuckler

@anubhav34400357 @pastramimachine Unfortunately no- this position has a Ph.D. requirement. But I would encourage all interested to keep an eye on possible Internship positions at X.

The electric grid is an engineering marvel, but it wasn’t built for modern challenges. Harnessing the potential of technologies like AI and ML, we can reimagine how we make, move and use power to unlock the decarbonizing potential of the grid. https://t.co/wcbnHL23Kb
The inverse of this should also be emphasized in this story: Don’t feel like an impostor if you don’t know what everyone else seems to- you probably have something else you can contribute that everyone else don’t know about. Celebrating uniqueness is a mindset ❄️
So I guess the moral of the story is, don't be an asshole about knowing Bayes Theorem (or whatever) as you were taught it in school, as if you listen and learn from other folks, sometimes you'll see something you've known for a while entirely differently!
Ditto on all this, lovely thread . One thing to add from my personal point of view: Don’t take the path of least resistance just because; it may throw you in a loop !
Your Google Scholar profile now displays how many of your papers should be free to read because a funder requires it; how many actually are, and how many are not. https://t.co/yhbPPELa55
