If you’re under 50, why would you vote for anyone else? Florida is the best-governed state in the country. It wasn’t BEFORE DeSantis, and it won’t be AFTER DeSantis. Stop voting for carnival barkers. Your kids are screwed unless you get serious. #RD28
It's not Rocket Science to understand why the GOP is F*cked this cycle:
(1) Trump Promised Mass Deportations. Sure, he got the border under control but then started creating massive loopholes for those who could pay $$$ to come in on Trump Visas as cheap labor & take away tech jobs from Americans that haven't already been lost to AI. Then instead of of putting in place a detailed, organized, plan for getting the rest of the people here illegally out he decided to have his staff Cosplay to make it seem like they were doing something productive when all it was doing was creating animosity and giving the leftist media an angle to portray it as cruelty. A smart leader would have gotten this done without the media spectacle under the radar. So it's not that people are against mass deportations now, they're just pissed that Trump won't do it in an efficient way and that his actions have been to actually stymie it, as if he doesn't want to deport all illegals like he promised.
(2) Then there's the Iran War. Again, most people aren't against taking out the Islamo-fascist regime in Iran. What's irritated voters is Trump's inability to finish the job. Trump seems obsessed with making a "deal" like he refuses to understand the IRGC & leadership are just evil-hearted & can't be persuaded by the business deals he's accustomed to. This has created massive volatility in oil and other markets. It's also given rise to the Antisemitic groypers who look for any avenue to attack and blame Israel . Trump's fear of creating another Iraq/Afghanistan has prevented him from finishing the job. But all this time there could have been a plan in place to learn from those prior conflicts while still getting the b*stards out of Iran's leadership & giving the Iranian people a chance to chart their own course. Now even those Iranians against the regime have become distrustful of Trump believing he will not provide the support they need if they rise up. And the region has become much more dangerous now.
(3) Tariffs - these are stupid to begin with because they almost always hurt the ones they're supposedly meant to protect. If you do implement them there has to be some sort of strategy and endgame to it and it was clear from Day 1 the Trump team had no logic or basis to them, with wild volatile swings from implementing them to postponing them just look like market manipulation to help the inside traders score big. And they still don't have a clue today.
(4) Inflation: $4/$6 gas. Everything costs more. People make more but not enough to offset the rise in inflation. All linked to the policies above due to being mishandled. And also the OBBB that Trump forced down the GOP's throat that pushed the national debt to over 40 Trillion. And yet the same Republicans like @tedcruz who lament the debt still supported that boondoggle. Because Trump loyalty was more important.
(5) Con Inc. (@glennbeck, @marklevinshow, @theblaze, @realDailyWire) that have ignored Trump's missteps in the above issues & do nothing but heap praise on him 24/7. They fear losing access & pissing off their boomer audience so they act these days more like leftist media. If they do offer any resistance it's always disguised under the mantra that Trump is getting bad advice from the inside, when most people know it's Trump himself making these calls. Everyone is afraid to call it out as if it's a sign of weakness so they lie to the audience that everything is fine and Trump is even better than Reagan. I also blame them for the rise in groyperism and the wing of the grifting Con Inc media that has found a new angle they can attack Trump. The groypers should be shamed but they get elevated as an opposition group because anyone else that tries to be critical of Trump from the policy points I laid out gets labeled a "TDS Liberal".
(6) RNC thinks labeling the other side as "DSA" is enough. The two-party system is on life support. Yeah, it's true Democratic Socialists are a major danger to the country and are trying to take over the Democratic Party. In any other normal cycle they'd get drowned out. But rather than run on issues, the GOP just runs on Trump loyalty. Those Trump loyalists can espouse DSA-lite talking points & it's ok because they're loyal to Trump. Essentially they're trying to blackmail voters into the thinking "Yeah, we lick Trump's boots, but you don't have any other choice, so if you don't want to end the country as we know it, vote for us!" Maybe this worked in previous elections, but it seems a lot of people are just checking out, not seeing the point. But some voters have endured so much financial pain in the above issues that they're willing to vote the other side even if they know things won't get better or might even get worse because they're certain things will get worse under Trump & the GOP if nothing changes.
But yeah, everything's hunky-dory. Move along with your day.

States can (and will) impose limitations/instructions on their delegations. It’s not hard.
Plus, a convention can’t amend the Constitution; it can merely propose like Congress has traditionally done.
Either way, any constitutional change requires 38 states to ratify, a very high bar.
The current Senate parliamentarian is Elizabeth MacDonough, she has held the post since 2012. She was appointed by Democrat Majority Leader Harry Reid.
The parliamentarian has no fixed term and serves at the pleasure of Senate leadership.
She seems to make almost every call in favor of the Democrats who appointed her. But @LeaderJohnThune and his RINOs refuse to replace her.
Appears to me that Thune enjoys losing to the Dems!!
In six years, including four of those years with a trifecta, there was never a single attempt from the White House to pass this and any conservative that tried to attach it to a must pass bill, got a call from the White House. This double game between campaigning and governing was always a problem, but now it’s gotten to a point where they where they literally campaign while they can govern. They wait until the trifecta is 100% going to be over to suddenly talk about this.
Melat Kiros, a Democratic nominee for Congress in Colorado, wants to give the millions of criminal illegal aliens in the U.S. an immediate pathway to citizenship.
If elected, these people will destroy our country.
🚨 This deserves attention in South Carolina. 👇🏻
According to federal disclosures, Qatar paid the Nelson Mullins law firm more than $7.1 million from 2017–2021 for lobbying. A related former Lindsey Graham aide, Andrew King, began receiving $50,000/month from Qatar in 2019.
Meanwhile, USC-Columbia has received roughly $17.5 million from Middle Eastern countries since 2016, including approximately $4.5 million from Qatar.
The article also points to a $100 billion Boeing aircraft deal between Qatar Airways and Boeing, a Qatar-backed drone facility at Charleston Executive Airport that received $250,000 from South Carolina, and a Nelson Mullins PAC donation to Darline Graham of $5,000 in August 2026.
The question isn’t whether these relationships exist—they’re documented. The question is how foreign money, lobbying, business interests and political networks intersect with South Carolina institutions.

Look, I have no dog in the 2028 fight. The GOP is so far gone, the ability to change anything at the federal level is so past its time, that I simply don't care and have no dog in the fight. To me, if you can't fix Wyoming and South Dakota, you ain't fixing Washington.
But...
If you disagree with me and you're entire Raison d'être is presidential politics, and everything rides on that, perhaps it's not a good idea to, once again, cancel an entire primary before we even know what comes around. Perhaps a completely fresh face will come around.
Heck, at this stage in 2016 (which would have been October 2014) Trump was not even on the scene yet. Cancelling primaries - both presidential and down ballot - the last number of years has not worked out for us. Competition. Let someone earn your vote. Let them demonstrate and bleed for the cause against the will of special interests when the ball is actually in play, not just through cheap rhetoric. Lessons are never learned because on the "right" it's all about access over accomplishing goals; it's an industry, not a movement.
But to stake out the position AT THIS STAGE that it's one man or die, is absurd. Particularly when Trump and the GOP will continue to decline in popularity even after Dem win in November and there will be an even bigger need for a fresh face. It could be no such person will arise, but why foreclose that?
The Left has figured out a new cheat code: funneling dark money into deep red state primaries to run Democrats with an "R" next to their name. Are we going to let them do it?

How about we don’t let utilities pass on costs to consumers due to servicing hyperscalers so that the citizens have more resources to invest/save/spend as they see fit?
