@whitfieldlewis6 I think that I’ve learned from you and other likeminded docs that smoking, hypertension, and diabetes are the biggest drivers of CAD (because of inflammation), and that while hyperlipidemia plays a role, it’s secondary if inflammation is minimal. Take me to school if I’m wrong.

I’ve had all my medical/dental care in México for the last nine years because that’s where I live. Biggest single event was diverticulitis several years ago. Four nights in hospital with industrial strength antibiotic. Biggest charges were CT contrast agent and professional fees for gastro and internal medicine. Total was $5,700 USD. But I pay nothing for insurance. Pay as I go. Probably less that 12,000 out of pocket in nine years for my wife and me. A bargain.

@KurtSupeCPA I retired at 60, and my wife and I moved to Guanajuato, Mexico. Self-insured until Medicare which we’ve never used. (We’ve never spent more than $5,500 USD in a single year for medical/dental.) No regrets whatsoever.

@TVConefive I think that the issue is far less “[anthropogenic) climate change” and far more water demand. We frequently have a water crisis in Bajio, then reservoirs and the water table are replenished, and bang it’s gone again. Dang humans! 😝
