Amidst the heatwave we are experiencing now in the UK I’m very pleased that my last outstanding paper of my PhD is finally out! In my PhD, I set out to determine how different spatial configuration patterns of urban form affect Land Surface Temperature at a patch level.
I have had an amazing time talking about trees and their role in urban heat mitigation to grown-ups and kids alike during the @SoapboxScience event in Milton Keynes. Thanks @SoapboxSciMK for having me!
All getting ready for the @SoapboxSciMK event tomorrow! Excited on the prospect of presenting my #urbanheat research to general public and promoting #WomenInSTEM! Please come along to CMK at 12-3 p.m. to see what amazing female researchers have been up to! @SoapboxScience
With the @SoapboxSciMK event approaching this Saturday (12-3pm MKC at John Lewis end), here is my blog where I share my motivation behind becoming a @SoapboxScience speaker as well as my research activities so far at @CranfieldUni as a female researcher!
Some great tips on how to succeed during the first year of a PhD project from the @SoapboxSciMK speaker - Madara @MadaraPre. Something to keep in mind whilst doing any kind of research, really!
Our first blog post from one of our 11 speakers Introducing @MadaraPre from @UniOfBuckingham Read about her approach to navigating her first year of PhD in computing #WomenInScience

I've also been well impressed by the green and biodiverse University campus, scattered with multiple water features and frequented by ever-chirping birds - a fine example of well-functioning urban green infrastructure.
I have had an immense pleasure to visit Jiangsu University in China as part of the 'flying faculty' of the Jiangsu - @CranfieldUni Tech Futures Graduate Institute and teach Modelling Environmental Processes and R scripting to some of our joint PhD students. 👇
One step closer to having our @UKCRIC soil moisture sensors and weather stations deployed! Great teamwork with Jack @Dirt_Science, Simon @envrisks and Cristinel!
Excited to have been out and abouts checking for suitability of our pre-selected sites for installation of #soil moisture probes and #weather stations, expanding our @UKCRIC Urban Observatory @CranfieldUni as well as finally making it to our newly planted #miyawaki forest! 🌳🏙️🧪
I'm delighted to have been selected as one of the speakers @SoapboxSciMK! I will be talking about the importance of urban green infrastructure for mitigating excess heat during hot summers 🌳🏘️🌳. Watch this space for more info☀️ #WomenInSTEM@CranfieldUni@SoapboxScience
