Nana Patekar is no more.

I have lost not merely an exceptional artist, but an extraordinary human being and a dear friend , someone whose warmth and affection touched everyone around him.

We spoke just eight days ago. I could never have imagined that it would be our last conversation.

His last words to me were: “Love you, Bala.”

Those words will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Some people leave behind memories. A few leave behind a part of themselves in our lives.

Nana was one of them.

Goodbye, my friend. You will be deeply missed, and forever remembered.

The news of Nana Patekar’s untimely passing away is deeply saddening. I have observed him closely during the filming of PRAHAR. He was not merely a remarkable actor, but a powerful presence. He worked hard to fit into the role given to him to act. His dedication , hardwork and no nonsense approach ensure realism in the role acted .His contribution to Indian cinema and the memories he leaves behind will endure.
My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and countless admirers. May his soul attain sadgati . Om Shanti.

5 rivers in Rajasthan were dead for decades. A man who got off a bus in 1985 brought them back.

Rajendra Singh had a government job and a small Ayurvedic practice. On 2 October 1985 he took a bus to Kishori village in Alwar with four friends.

The villagers didn't need medicine. They needed water. So he started digging johads, the small mud check dams their grandparents used to build to catch rainwater.

By 2001 his group had built about 4,500 johads across 850 villages. The Arvari river started flowing again. Then Ruparel, Sarsa, Bhagani and Jahajwali.

He got the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2001 and the Stockholm Water Prize in 2015, which people call the Nobel Prize for water.

Here in Bengaluru we buy water from tankers every summer. Every city needs one Rajendra Singh.

Vasai MLA Sneha Dube Pandit met Urban Development Department Additional Chief Secretary Asim Gupta to discuss long-pending civic and town planning issues.

Key issues raised:
▪️ FSI in Green Belt areas
▪️ Redevelopment and repairs of old houses
▪️ Relaxation of Town Planning norms
▪️ OC for buildings granted “Over and Above CC”
▪️ Issues concerning traditional Bavkhals

A separate meeting with concerned officials was also discussed to find practical solutions to these long-pending issues.
