@dcsheriff Just put them away. We are so tired of all of the thefts in the shoplifting and how they affect the rest of the economy. Throw away the key.
🚨Aurora ICAC Detectives Make Arrest After Months-Long Online Predator Operation‼️
Aurora’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit arrested 39-year-old Daniel Oliver McCarthy, this week on charges of internet luring of a child and attempted sexual assault on a child all tied to an online predator operation from more than eight months ago.
Yes, eight months.
Patience isn’t just a virtue; it’s an investigative tactic.
On March 27 and 28, our ICAC detectives partnered with the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office, Longmont PD and Homeland Security Investigations for a two-day online operation targeting predators using the internet to exploit children. After the operation wrapped, the social media ads stayed live
and that’s when McCarthy took the bait.➡️
On March 29, McCarthy responded to one of the ads and began chatting with an undercover persona he believed was a 12-year-old girl.
And then he kept coming back. For eight months. Repeatedly trying to convince the “12-year-old” to run away and move in with him in Greeley. Every message, every plan, every attempt, all with someone who was absolutely not a child.
McCarthy showed up in Aurora on Wednesday expecting to meet this “child” for sex. What he got instead was a team of APD officers ready to arrest him. Alarmingly, officers also found a loaded handgun sitting on the front seat of his vehicle.
A huge shoutout to our Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and the Colorado Cyber Guardian Task Force. These cases take grit, long hours and a whole lot of behind-the-scenes work. Their dedication keeps kids safe and puts predators exactly where they belong. ‼️

@sayitvini They only ‘played’ the US national anthem. But not providing the accommodation of actual singing it. Again there is a difference. There has to be someone that can actually vocalize it.
