If the #RedSea coastal states request your help in safeguarding their security, that is one thing. Otherwise, it is their sole responsibility.
As for the Horn of Africa (HOA), Ethiopia🇪🇹 is hardly in a position to lecture others about regional security and peace, especially when your country is contributing to regional instability. Isn’t Ethiopia hosting the #RSF, which is destroying Sudan🇸🇩? Which country is constantly threatening Eritrea🇪🇷? And isn’t your country undermining Somalia’s🇸🇴 sovereignty by threatening to unilaterally recognize #Somaliland, in violation of international law?
This forum is therefore surrounded by hypocrisy when it comes to #Ethiopia claiming to be concerned about the security of the Red Sea and the Horn of Africa.
Instead, focus on fixing your own country and saving it from ethnic cleansing and disintegration.

The Tana Forum’s Special Envoys’ Dialogue officially commenced today in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, bringing together high-level diplomats and regional leaders to discuss the evolving geopolitics of the Horn of Africa and the growing security challenges in the Red Sea.
In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador Redwan Huseen, Director General of Ethiopia’s National Intelligence and Security Service, underscored that the region’s vast economic potential and critical maritime trade routes are increasingly threatened by growing militarization, rivalries among foreign powers, and renewed attacks on commercial shipping in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
He emphasized that Red Sea security cannot be ensured by a few states alone, but requires urgent and collective cooperation among regional states and reliable global partners.
As an anchor state entirely dependent on the Red Sea for its maritime trade, Ethiopia has a vital responsibility to safeguard its commercial shipping and avert emerging security threats, he added.
Following the opening remarks, high-level panel discussions are underway under the theme “Regional Security in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea.” Moderated by Paul-Simon Handy, Regional Director for East Africa and Representative to the African Union, the panel brought together prominent African and international envoys to discuss the region’s evolving geopolitical dynamics.
The speakers included Getachew Reda, Minister Advisor on East African Affairs; Guang Cong, UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa; Frédéric Clavier, French Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa; Ambassador Heiko Nitzschke, Germany’s Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa; and Pekka Haavisto, Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Sudan.
The 12th Tana High-Level Forum on Security in Africa is being held under the theme “Pathways to Peace in Africa: Economic Sovereignty and Geopolitical Transformation,” bringing together regional and international stakeholders to address Africa’s evolving security landscape.
The depths of moral depravity are almost beyond comprehension. In a recent public audio discussion, Hermela Brook (@ConnectiveStrat) appeared to relish reports of #Amhara babies and mothers killed in drone strikes, dismissing those mourning the children as merely “crying and whining,” and questioning what else they expected. To hear such callousness expressed in the company of other women is astounding. What level of bestiality reduces the massacre of innocent babies to an occasion for gleeful conversation? No political allegiance or ethnic identity can justify celebrating the slaughter of children. We remember these words. We document them. And we insist that those responsible for attacks on civilians face justice through due process. Impunity must meet its fate on the altar of justice.

Because it is the most inept and corrupt organization. That is why we are saying #Eritrea🇪🇷 doesn’t need to be a member of this corrupt @_AfricanUnion. I know that may sound bold, but all #Eritrea needs is to build strategic and trade partnerships with Western 🇺🇸🇪🇺 countries, 🇨🇳 and #ASEAN nations. That is all. #Eritrea would lose nothing by staying out of an organization🌍plagued by corruption and chaos. Membership is not compulsory.
@AUC_PAPS
Why is the @_AfricanUnion silent on drone attacks killing civilians in #Ethiopia? The #AU has condemned similar attacks in #Sudan and the #DRC, so where is the same urgency for Ethiopian lives? Shame on this selective silence. The AU must be held accountable.
Held discussions with H.E. Mr. Fu Cong, Permanent Representative of the People’s Republic of #China to the @UN. In addition to UN80 processes, elections, we discussed recent developments in the #Horn of #Africa and the importance of sober, objective analysis grounded in facts and an appreciation of the region’s complex historical and political realities.
On #Eritrea–#Ethiopia relations, explained that the Government of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has pursued a three-year-long campaign targeting the State of #Eritrea, its Government and institutions. This has been accompanied by an increasingly aggressive campaign to claim and annex the #Eritrean port of #Assab, exploiting fabricated historical connections and disseminating misinformation and disinformation to inflame nationalist sentiment and galvanize public opinion in #Ethiopia.
Underscored that, despite persistent threats of force and explicit declarations of war by #Ethiopian leaders, #Eritrea has exercised maximum restraint and refused to be drawn into an escalation fuelled by provocative rhetoric and threats.
Further stressed the responsibility of an international community that has extended diplomatic, financial and political support to the #Ethiopian Government, often shielding it from meaningful scrutiny and accountability.
I also highlighted #Ethiopia’s decision to sever diplomatic relations with #Eritrea and expel #Eritrea|n diplomats, including those accredited to the @_AfricanUnion and the @UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA).
Such support must not embolden the dangerous illusion that political objectives can be pursued through force, whether against neighbouring states or #Ethiopia|s own people. Such an approach is neither sustainable nor conducive to peace. It rewards brinkmanship, emboldens further provocations and weakens the deterrent effect of the @UN Charter's prohibition on the threat or use of force.
It also sends a deeply troubling message to other states: that compliance with international law is expected of some, while others may enjoy exceptional treatment because of their strategic value or political relationships...
Many people are feared trapped after a multi-storey building collapsed in a densely populated business and residential area in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi.
Amid rescue operations, police fired tear gas on looters who targeted nearby shops following the collapse.
#Ethiopia
The UAE puppet regime in Ethiopia has failed.
Time for this war addicted regime to step aside and let Ethiopians sit together and decide their future.
Ethiopia is too big and too important to be a charlatan’s vanity project.

ETHIOPIA ― Large public protests erupted today in the "contested" Raya Alamata district of Southern Tigray region as residents took to the streets to oppose efforts to conduct election-related activities and demanding the immediate withdrawal of the pro-government Tigray Peace rebel Forces (TPF).
Demonstrators chanted slogans including “We are Amhara,” “We will not be ruled by authorities we reject,” and “Tigray Peace Forces must leave the area,” etc., expressing their opposition to the current administration and the presence of pro-government Tigray rebel forces in the area.
Reports indicate that security forces opened fire to disperse the demonstrators. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and the extent of any casualties has yet to be confirmed.
Do you remember when I said it was only a matter of time before the two መሽረፈቶች—@AbiyAhmedAli and @reda_getachew
would fight again 4 days ago? Here it is!

@martinplaut reluctantly acknowledged the reality of Eritrea’s🇪🇷 clearly defined borders and highlighted the unrealistic nature of @AbiyAhmedAli’s ambitions regarding Eritrea’s ports.
What’s even more embarrassing is that Kenyan elites and intellectuals are known for their eloquent English and knowledge of Western history. Yet @AbiyAhmedAli is plagiarizing JFK’s speech, probably without even knowing who JFK was. 🤦♂️🤣
